I also thought Hagel might've been worth a shot, followed by Budik. But whatevs, they were lotto tickets.
Timmy Schaller is a UFA, would not mind him back in blue and gold. |

88 is a mega super star generation #
Lindros
P kane
Dahlin fits the profile.
Wonder what he would need to give moulson $ for #26?
- Boss34
What are u talking about?
Moulson is never playing for the Sabres again
#26 is available
- jdfitz77
When did that become official?
Missed it.

I thought it was weird we didn’t sign him
Brought it up a couple weeks ago
Then someone posted he was actually a UFA (similar situation to Nelson),
and apparently he chose to leave
Idk if he’d come back?
But he’d be a nice 4C for us |

Sabres have let go of some very effective bottom 6 guys, and held on to, or picked up terrible ones. A problem maybe not talked about enough. |

I remember when ppl on here thought Larsson might be a 2C and Girgensons would be our future Captain... |

Unless he is bought out Moulson will be at Sabres training camp
One of my employees plays with him in Ontario.
He will be in Buffalo for camp at least.
Moulson is still a Sabre whether you like it or not until he is officially bought out or retires.
Will he make the team? No probably not but they aren't going to give away his number either. |

Right, still under contract through this season. He was waived, unclaimed, then loaned. Still a Sabre technically

Even IF Moulson is at camp,
(which is probably pretty unlikely)
he’s not ever playing another NHL game for us
is it possible he wears 26 at camp & Dahlin wears some random number like Jack did?
Of course
But once camp is over,
and Moulson is sent to the minors somewhere
#26 will be Dahlin’s... IF he wants it
Idk if he does or not?
But i do feel extremely confident that a guy who’s wearing #26 in the minors for 1 year isn’t gonna prevent Dahlin from choosing that number |

To be fair though,
I thought Armia would be a 30goal sniper for us at some point

If Moulson isn't retired or bought out he will absolutely be in camp, it's not an if.
The Sabres aren't going to give away his number period. It's in poor taste

No it’s not
Moulson is no longer an NHL player
He’s basically Kevin Porter at this point
Idk what number Porter wears,
but u think they wouldn’t let a roster player up here wear it?
I do
Also,
Not every player who’s signed attends camp
In Moulson’s case,
they very well may send him right to Rochester instead of having him come to the Sabres camp
There’s no reason for him to be there
-he has no chance of making the team
-he’s not a young player they need to get a look at
But again...
even if he’s in Camp, he will at some point be sent down
He might be under contract for another year, but he’s not ever gonna play a regular season game for us again
26 will be Dahlin’s if he wants it... IF |

I never disliked him
Just thought he’d top out as a good, defensive 3C
and that he’d never score 20g in a season
He probably had decent trade value after that 15g season where he played on the top line for us with Ennis
Bet we could’ve got something pretty decent for both of them |

Good on you. As far as trade value, hindsight is 20/20, and given how bad we were if we would have sold off 2/3 of that top line there would've been a riot...especially given that Girgs was a rookie and Enzo was still young.
Still, I saw Mike Peca 2.0. Not as physical, but he had the drive, the character and seemed to be able to pop in a few. Boy was I wrong. |

Me too kinda
I was hopeful the moves we made on defense last year (Scandella & Antipin & Beaulieu) would work out
Scandella is ok
Dahlin + Guhle & Nelson...
Now we should finally have a legit defense
With a chance to develop into a pretty good one
Borgen coming should eventually help too |

I hear ya,
but it would’ve depended what we traded them for
After we drafted Girgs,
i got ripped on here bc i said we should trade him for O’Reilly
I doubt the fans would’ve been upset if we moved him for a good player
Same with Ennis
I also still think Girgensons could be a good defensive 4th liner for us though
But he’s gotta want/accept that role
Seems like he gets upset when played down there bc he feels he’s a top6 guy |

It's time to move on. Malone will be our 4C soon enough. |

If the Sabres get better bottom 6 guys, it won't feel like such a punishment. |
