Until Grönborg signs somewhere else, it's a name to keep an eye on, possibly as head coach in Buffalo should Housley not make adequate year-over-year progress.
What kind of season do you think would cost Housley his job?
And is there a start so putrid that he's out within 20 games?
Yeah, that deal wouldn't make sense to me, because you'd be moving ROR, and throwing Mitts to the wolves at 2C with whatever combination of Nylander, Wilson, Okposo and Pominville that they could cobble together. Forget the fact that it would be another abysmal year, it would be bad for his development - jcragcrumple
Unless they sign Stastny to a 3 year deal. - kingcong39
I know he signed a 4 year deal last time, but I don't see him going shorter than 5 years this go around. But I certainly don't know that, so I guess we'll find out in 2 weeks

I don't really view him as an option. He's the #2 UFA C, no reason he'd want to come here in a defensive role, and there's no reason for us to outbid to get him for that.

I think they'll need to get off to a good start...I think the defense will need to look like a Housley type defense and I also think that they'll need to look good on special teams, especially the powerplay...those are just the outward aspects...internally, he needs to get the dressing room in order...
imo, there's no way that team with some talented players like Eichel, ror, and kane before he was traded should have been so pitiful to start the season...

that's weak tea right there - Michael Pachla
If he has Guhle, Dahlin, Risto, a healthy Bogo, Scandella, McCabe and Nelson to choose from, he should be able to implement some form of his defensive strategy.
Side note: andrew Peters floated the idea of Beaulieu at 4LW. Maybe not a crazy idea? He has some toughness and more speed than Girgs and Larsson

I brought up chris hajt as his assistant...I believe he's in way over his head
as for beaulieu there?...they'd be better off waiving him or trading him...that said, if he ever got his head on straight, he'd make for an excellent offensive-minded d-man
