say what now? Raw Deal? |

I am 100% convinced he will be their head coach at some point this season. Whether that's a good move or not remains to be seen. I can see this from Holland's standpoint: "He beat us in 2009 so we know how good he is" The thing is that Bylsma had a team of Crosby Letang Malkin, Fleury etc |

Awful coach. But I think you're right, he's a fall back option if there's a coaching change. |

He had a terrible team and was blamed for not having success. He gets fired cuz they wanted to listen to a 20 y/o Eichel. They bring in new coach/GM and I'm pretty sure they are picking first tonight so yeah he got a raw deal. |

I wouldn't call him a terrible coach but by no means is he great. |

I see this as a similar thing to what happened with Hitchcock and Yeo. Blues brought him in as an assistant but there was writing on the wall. If I'm Blashill, I know my days are numbered unless they win a ton of games early and I don't see that happening. |

Besides my own personal opinion, If you go back and read Mario's and Burkle's comments (post firing), you'll think differently. There's been a lot of good reporting on his failures as Pens coach. Bottom line, he got very lucky and inherited the perfect situation to win his cup. Once he installed his own system and ideas, he won a total of 4 playoff series in the next 5 years.
Out of his last 6 contractual years, he got paid/or will be paid for 4 years NOT TO COACH. Of course that might have changed since Detroit came along and bailed out Buffalo like Buffalo bailed out the Penguins.

The GM really butchered Detroit, but you're right, Blashill will take the fall. They might have the largest collection of ugly contracts in the league. |

Just wait until July 1st...Holland is going to add to that list of bad contracts. He has already stated he wants to compete this season and they are looking at signing Kovalchuk, Vanek, Hutton/Khudobin (one of them) and re-sign Green. If he misses on those you know he is going to panic and throw money and term on some other UFA not worth much. |

He is terrible. Just because the new coach did worse doesn't make Dan a good coach.

Yeah, there’s only som much a guy can do with a pile of dog poop. Sabres fans can’t admit their players were garbage. |
