Love it, Coleman is a beast, with incredible work ethic. I think he has another gear or 2 he can hit as he develops if hes given a bigger role with more ice time

Good for Coleman, played his ass off and is now a millionaire. Not bad for a guy that if not for the Devils would never have played NHL.
You know he's gonna try to validate the contract by taking it up a notch.

I believe Coleman can reach the 25 point mark again this season. I also wouldn't be too surprised if he reaches 30 points in a season down the road.

When you consider Anaheim just gave Rico just under 6m per season, and he only had 11 more goals than Pickles despite being on a top pairing and playing substantial PP minutes, Coleman was a deal. (I know Rico had double the points, but still seems pricy considering the return.)

I love this signing as well. Not sure about creating a bigger role, and he is not signed as such, but a great shutdown forward that doesn't pass up a hit. Absolute work horse. Great signing and glad the 26 year old rookie now has financial security. Good to see Noesen signed on a one year as well. Now lets put in an offer sheet on Nurse, or make a deal for Dumba and call it a successful off season.

Better buy Kinkaid and Corey some serious suntan lotion because that red light behind them is gonna burn their necks!

Three year seems a year long to me but we have so much cap space and it’s relatively so inexpensive I can’t see how this would hurt us in any way.

That said If I’m more confident in Noesen improving then Coleman.

Haha. I get where that idea is coming from. Could he possibly be worse than Lovejoy????? Wish we had some better D option. Couple quality D men, then Kapla/Santini/Mueller/Yakovlev/Green/Gryba would all be fringe 6/7 D men on most clubs. No disrespect to our captain, solid vision, just losing his legs. Hopefully a player or two can prove they are elevate their game and quit being a question mark.

I always thought Zajac should move to defense.

Looks like a year to let the kids develop and if they are in a position at the end of the calendar year, maybe get a few rentals, but it looks pretty much like we are set with who we have.

Without anything else happening the following is the best I can come up with is:

Hall - Nico - Palmeiri
Mojo - Zacha - Anderson*
Wood - Zajac - Bratt*
Coleman - Boyle - Noesen*

*=could be anywhere bottom 9 RW, Anderson being a total guess/longshot.

moving on... call it a guess, but I think Bastian and McLeod sees some time with the club, and perhaps playing on a line with Zacha. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a lot of chemistry there.

I say this because I know they're all hard forecheckers.
