I hope they take it slow, no need to rush. Err on the side of caution. I dont want another Wayne Simmonds type of situation.

Bill,

Just for clarity sake. Is that 4 weeks including the 2 weeks that have already passed or 4 additional weeks taking it to a 6 week window?

No surgery is required. During the first half of training camp, Couturier will participate in drills on a limited basis. He will not be involved in any battle/contact drills and will be held out of the early preseason games.

I'm sure JVR can show him how to do that.

Most likely an additional 4 weeks. I wouldn't expect to see him until those last few preseason games (late Sept).

This really will give Vecchione, Vorobyov, and maybe even Frost a longer look in camp.

a knee brace, this guy isn't a phenomenal skater to begin with. Last guy that needs to lose a step, hopefully this doesn't hinder him at all.

Chill people! The guy scored 3 goals and 2 assists a couple of days removed from a sprained MCL. His game has never been about speed and while no one wants see him with a knee injury, this isn’t serious. 4 weeks from now he’ll be fine.

Hold all the important guys out of most of the early preseason games.

There are 8 of them to get thru, and lots of kids we need to get good looks at.

Eight!

JVR'S sole purpose is to score goals, IN THE NHL REGULAR SEASON AND PLAYOFFS, Not a workout warrior in practice ! Most smart hockey people know this, guess you're not one of those !

I like the concept of knee braces for all, would be interesting to see if more teams emBRACE this.

Coots will probably be a step slower now, on par with John Tavares.

The most important thing in hockey is scoring goals.

Austin Matthews if he played 102 games a year averages 73 goals per 60. This is why he is considered the best in the league.

JvR can only score goals. He sucks.

JVR got a cool million from the Flyers in July, and he hasn't played a game in the orange and black in over six years. Lazy bum. I wish I could get money 4 nothing.

Several Flyers goaltending commentaries, including NHL 31 in 31, don’t even mention Alex Lyon. I personally think he showed a lot of potential last season. I liked his ability to learn from mistakes and make adjustments at NHL level and his playoffs here in Charlotte were great. It would be good if he could get 20-25 starts at NHL level this season. He is a nice future potential goalie partner for Hart. They can’t both start the same season so I think now is the time to get a better look at Lyon.
