• Canucks director of player development Ryan Johnson on Dahlen's bumpy start to last season: "He came to Utica and played a couple of exhibition games and got completely humbled to the point where it was a hard conversation for me to have with him. He said: ‘I’m not ready for this.’ So we set up a plan.
I hope Ryan works his way into JB's spot. The guy is gold imo. Knows what it takes and has a plan. |

@ thunda
Hopefully that's the "plan". Move Ryan Johnson up in a year or two to AGM, then transition when JB moves up to 'President/Chief Yes-Man' after that.
Thanks Carol! |

The 24-year-old’s expected primary points rate for last season had him producing at a first pairing rate, if only barely. A big reason for this is because of the drastic improvement in his transition game – Stecher ranking among the 94th percentile in the NHL for shots and shot assists generated from plays that began in the defensive or neutral zone(Trans/60).
One top pairing dman next year 👍 |

There is a massive influx of leadership about to hit the ice tomorrow. DiPietro could be the next NHL goalie to wear a C on his mask. |

So Bob Hartley is coaching the team that Vans two prospects in Russia play for. They also just signed 6 ex nhl player. Mentorship. |

Hm, funny. Ryan Biech includes Zhukenov as playing for HC Yurga in the VHL, but i do see him listed on the KHL roster. Maybe it’s a call up thing? Wonder if Berezin is Sergei’s kid. |

The more I read/watch OJ/Woo!/hughes and even brisbois the more I see very different but complimentary styles. Same with Lind/EP/BO/Boeser. I like that JB/Weis seem to be balanced in their approach. Next year I expect them to draft a forward with the top5 pick and another d in the 2nd or 3rd. With any luck we'll have an extra pick. Seriously considering attending the draft just for the experience of seeing the process first hand. |

Disagree. Pretty rare to see a successful goalie at his size in the show. Can't think of any, frankly. Solid backup is what I see, but I hope he proves me wrong and you right. IMO no other position does size matter more (queue Sutter/balls comments) |

He’s 6’ now and still growing, he’s not Arturs Irbe small. Not that I think he’s a sure bet to ever play in the NHL. |

Saros in Nashville is even shorter than DP, but obviously he's just a backup. But Preds fans see him as their future starter.
Quick is only a bit taller than 6 feet.
But yeah, the list is short
(i refuse to apologize for that pun) |
