GARTH'S CORNER: Bowman Has High Praise For Dahlin
- garth

From 1979 until 1987, Bowman was the head coach and general manager of the Buffalo Sabres. He won 210 career regular season games, plus 18 playoff games.

Is this supposed to be impressive over an 8 or 9 year stretch? Sounds to me like his stint in Buffalo was a career low-lite.

Bowman only coached four full seasons in Buffalo between 1979 and 1987. The other years were snippets in between Roger Neilson, Jimmy Roberts, and Craig Ramsay. In those four full seasons, the Sabres finished with 110, 89, 103, and 90 points. They were not his most successful years, to be sure. Nor were his years here as general manager. He did draft two future hall-of-famers in the same round in 1982, and you don't see that every day,

That’s not too bad. I did some reading, it seems like he really wanted to be a GM , but after Buffalo and an upper management job in Pitt it seems like coaching was his true calling.

Low blow, man. The Bills might have lost by 44 points, but nothing is as bad as Garf.

Just leave to kid alone. Creepy
Bowman has the most bloated resume of all time. Heck, Ron Rolston could have coached the 70’s Habs to victory. Those Red Wing teams and Penguin teams were stacked. Oddly the only team that he was fully in charge was the Sabres. 🤮

Just rename the Norris trophy the Dahlin Trophy at this point.

*Dahlin's Trophy

It isn't named after him, it's named for him.
