If the current top 7 are all healthy for October 4th, I'd be happy. I'm not so worried about how they line up.

One more injury on D and Hextall will have to start scouting the ranks of the unemployed vets.

Not happy that AMac is out, the D is short on experience and Gudas is a question mark after last year. I’d love to see Myers make the team, but it would be a D group pretty short on NHL experience.

four games in four nights to start preseason should help the injury situation

My question mark on defense got a lot bigger with AMac out. He was so steady last season and everything the Flyers needed of him. I was really warming to his mentor role and hoping he would be paired with Sanheim this season.
I’ve thought that years down the road he may be the perfect 7th defenseman having been paired with each of our rookie defenseman during their development.

That's going to be mainly the kids and AHL guys playing, though.

After the first four games I'm sure there will be a lot of cuts made.

I'm not. I'm over it. MacDonald isn't my favorite, but he's not been holding the team back any more than others who haven't played well during his tenure. He's sunk cost. He does the job well enough over 82 games that I can get past the individual games where he just makes me want to lose my mind. They won't all be Provorov, you know?

Mac is an alright dman, I’m not super excited about him having become the mentor for most of these kids but so be it. I’m not happy the guy is hurt, but excited that his absence should provide a opening for Myers.

It was actually MacDonald returning from injury last year that got them on a hot streak and push to the playoffs last year, so this is a very good thing
