Pach, you alluded to it in the piece, but does Nylander lock down a spot with a strong game? |

Clinton is very close (5 minutes away) from where I live. Unfortunately, they did a ticket lottery for people in the Town of Kirkland (2/3 of the tickets went to the residents) and the rest to the public. I wish i was going but didn't get picked for the lottery. Oh well... Go Sabres |

he's erased a lot of doubt for many although I still remain skeptical...just not as skeptical as I was at the start of camp

I just hope none of our guys contract a disease from those locker rooms
They can use that 150K in a lot of ways on that barn. |

I wanted Baker
Said it numerous times
I wasn't a Darnold fan
I wanted Rosen over Allen
Allen is showing me I was wrong
I really enjoy watching him turn into a leader on the sidelines as well. It shows a lot.
He still has learning to do but, there isn't a doubt that he is coachable and can learn on the fly |

I felt after the draft that the teams who selected quarterbacks in the first round all got the qb they needed...from Mayfield's moxie for Cleveland, to d-d-d-Arnold and the Jets, to allen's athleticism for the bills to lamar Jackson in Baltimore...
oh and rosen in Arizona (I guess?)

From Deadspin https://deadspin.com/sam-...h-allen-ha-1829300646/amp
The Associated Press found Allen’s poise to be lede-worthy:
"Josh Allen played with the poise of a well-seasoned quarterback, hustling to give Buffalo an early lead in his first NFL road start."
Kimberley A. Martin of Yahoo Sports:
"Allen showed poise in the pocket, completing 15 of 22 passes for 196 yards and one passing touchdown. But it is the grit and passion he has shown on the field that has endeared him most in the locker room."
Sal Maiorana of the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle:
"What was so notable is that Allen appeared unfazed by all the mediocrity. He showed his poise in and out of the pocket, and he threw the ball accurately which was the biggest question mark surrounding him when he came out of college."
Mike Rodak of ESPN:
"Allen only attempted four second-half passes, limiting his exposure. But his poise when the Bills were building their early lead, sucking the hope out of the home crowd, should be commended."
And here’s a bonus “composure” mention from Rodak:
"If Allen can maintain his impressive composure longer than the Vikings retained their perceived advantage Sunday, the Bills might actually fare a chance as their brutal early-season schedule continues with three road trips in the next four weeks."
He is not ready though. Would probably learn more holding a clipboard. |

Might be reading too much into it,
but based on the lineup...
-seems like Nylander is being given a chance to make the team
-E Rod back at 4C might mean they’re considering moving on from Larsson &/or Girgs
-Guhle & Borgen could be the top pairing in Rochester
A couple things i don’t get though...
-why is Dahlin playing with Nelson?
I can’t see them really going with that combo to start the season
-same questions about Mitts’ linemates?
Smith and Oglevie are getting sent down.
Mitts hasn’t been all that good so far...
shouldn’t we be trying to find who he’s gonna play with to start the season?
Just feels like we are wasting time here where we could be developing chemistry

Why not Dahlin + Nelson? Nelson or Bogo are two most obvious partners for him to start the season with. I'm glad they are giving them a game together.

If anything I think it speaks more to what the team feels about Nelson |

I think he's nailed down his spot and Beaulieu is 7th D.

there's a lot of that 'clipboard' thing going around...for me it was more about saving him from becoming another tim couch tackling dummy behind a porous offensive line...i'm still of the opinion that it will be a perilous season, but man he does look good so far

Yes
Hopefully
Could be good too.
Dahlin played with McCabe last, so Dahlin isn't going to be top pairing to start. Who his partner is doesn't mean he's not getting top4 minutes. Nelson may be a better "steady" presence than McCabe in their eyes.
Partly that's because it's preseason, that we don't have full lines to put the guys you mentioned with him if he's 3C. Smith and Ogre did look good so far this preseason, have netted goals and may be the best of what's remaining for the bottom 6 in a preseason game where some sit.
I kind of agree. Think some is just due to circumstance. |

That's why I don't blame Fitz for saying he wasn't ready. He messed up calling some coverages against the Chargers I heard. If he continued to take 5 sacks a game or whatever it was, then he's another Couch.
I was wrong about him. I didn't think he had that game in him. Not saying he's Montana yet, but I think we can stop with the EJ juxtapositions. |
