Thanks for the blog, good reading as always, Carol

Seasons Gruntings to all, and hope you've all been well and enjoying snorfing down copious 180 proof egg-noggian libation and gorging on an abundance of chocolate confectionaries (also 180 proof of course), worthy of an out of control Greek orgy, during these Yuletide festivities.

I unfortunately have been too busy to be around much (yes, lockdown is at 8:30 sharp) and I'm sure you've all missed me (like a bad STD, yes) but have popped in from time to time to read some of the comments (both from the grizzled (and primarily jaded ) HockeyBuzz veterans/regulars as well as some of the (also well on their way to being primarily jaded) newbies) and, as always, I am both disgusted and find you all deplorable ha (ok ok, I jest of course). Some interesting (and a 'tad' few 'interesting') observations and conversations, indeed, especially about our very own 'golden boy' in particular.

Alas, after last night's showcase, I couldn't help but log in to say hello, wish everyone a happy and bail-fund free holidays (feel free to call Carol, however, if need be, given she's making the big coin of course ) and to also put in my $.02 worth on the general state of affairs. And I have to say, I am pleasantly surprised to see the Canucks playing some decent hockey thus far - and of course ecstatic to see how well Pettersson is doing. The guy is truly something to behold (thank you for the breaking news Mr Redundancy, yes) and I think it's obvious as Vantel's love of cheap vino and sordid fake-boobed divorced socialites (of course who doesn't love cheap vino and fake-boobed divorced socialites) to say he's exceeded everyone's expectations (probably even his own)

Just watching that Elias/Bo tap-in pass last night was a thing of beauty and reminiscent of some classic Sedin-ery magic. To think this kid is barely of drinking age (and could be Vantel's illegitimate grand-child - sorry Vantel, it's been a while ha, you know I love/lust ya ) and to have this kind of impact already is truly something to watch. Who would have actually dared to think that the Canuckleheads might actually be vying for a play-off spot at ANY point this season? (of course I've just officially cursed them I'm sure but still it's been a fun ride and an enjoyable product on the ice, something I would have never thought would be the case if you asked me prior to the start of the year, especially given the loss of the beloved and brilliant Sedinsicles)

In any event, I know this is just re-hash but I just had to provide my accolades to Benning & Co for recognizing the potential and talent in this kid when they drafted him. A franchise (possible generational) player at the number five spot is phenomenal. Let's just hold our collective breaths that his 100 pound (when wet) noodle body can withstand the rigors of a full season and manages to avoid or minimize any heavy contact over what I hope is a very lengthy career.

In any event, hope to post more in the New Year but until then hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable holidays (Marwood, make sure to save some of your and Mrs' Marwood's world-renowned 'whacky' Crasmass brownies for the rest of the gang, and may the magic mushroom be with you in 2019). Lastly, thanks for all the quality blogs, Carol, keep em comin' and Happy Holidays to you and yours as well.

Cheers and Go Team Canada Jr's!

P.S. incidentally, for anyone that might be interested, I am running a hockey pool draft/league this weekend (Sunday - 6-ish) on Yahoo (head to head, one-win, big league, lots of stats, tons of groupies etc all good stuff ) for the last 2/3'rds of the season. If you are interested then send me a note or just use the link to go straight to the league (sorry for the shameless plug, I hope it's all right that I post this, but I figured from previous experience that some of you might be interested in possibly joining and *ahem* showing off your arm-chair hockey managerial prowess/knowledge *wink wink* , so there you have it).

Thanks Carol!

Made it to the game last night, went down after the first and got a steal on club tickets. Got to our seats just in time to see the first goal! Glad to see the team playing well, good for the confidence of the young guys

I remember very well Danny Gallivan D1ck Irvin classic . Then you had the Toronto Guys Foster Hewitt was a classic. Leafs could lose 10 nothing and still all three stars were from Toronto.

I don't like Jim Hughes . He prostituted his services for the money. He hated the Leafs but sold his soul.

I don't mind Garrett. I know he is a fan. His job is not convince the hockey buzz crowd but rather to pump up the pom pom crowd. Same with Murph.

Their job is to keep the fans happy not reporting the truth.

I can totally get that, it pissed me off at the time also, probably the main reason I also can't stand Babcock. I don't understand why I should begrudge the guy trying to make as much as he can, regardless of the team, but I will never get behind Babcock even if they make him coach of team Canada in the Olympics, team yes...Babcock can go blow it...

I see that with a lot of broadcasters. They put in the time and then they want to be the ones telling the stories not just announcing what's happening on the ice.

Even Shorty now has lots of stories and wisdom to pass on .
