Should I be more concerned about Geno being out? Perhaps, but I'm not. He'll be nice and rested when he gets back. I have to think bruised ribs because if they were cracked I dont know that he'd of finished that game. The 2 times I bruised mine, the next few days after the incidents, it got much worse feeling. |

If they can get Letang back, they'll get through it fine. At least it's not a broken finger or high ankle sprain. As these games go on, it's so incredibly evident how badly they miss Letang. |

I would be okay with him missing another game, to be honest. |

Well, statistically... Letang being out hurts us more than if Crosby or Malkin is out. I remember seeing that stat awhile ago. |

Interesting tidbit. The last two times the Pens won the cup they lost Geno week-to-week at the end of the season. |

So basically, just to make sure I get it straight, what you're saying is that the Penguins lost Geno week-to-week at the end of the season the last two times that they won the Cup? |

Certainly not the points we wanted to get out of it, and probably puts the Metro out of reach (although it was never super realistic to begin with), but I’m not all that worried. We were bound to lay a stinker at some point, and a matinee against a pretty good Blues team on the first day of a back to back seems about right, but beyond that game this team seems to really have made a pivot. We didn’t beat Philly but our Letangless blue line continues to play pretty well, which is probably our most important subplot to follow going into the playoffs. If Letang comes back at a high level and the rest of the blue line keeps playing like it is now, we should have a puncher’s chance.
Obviously sucks about Geno, but our schedule is pretty easy to close out. We should be able to withstand not having him, especially if Letang comes back. |

Yes, det and nyr should be gimmes, but we’ve seen how the Pens can sometimes flounder games they SHOULD win.
Nsh and Carolina twice is not easy, but I’d be happy if they broke even.
I wasn’t able to watch yesterday’s game, but if Sully isn’t doing Sid, Bjug, McCann, Cullen down the middle then he’s making a mistake IMO. |

Yeah I remember reading about that as well and it makes sense anyways. He is averaging the 2nd most TOI (25:55) in the league this season. That coupled with his skill set and battle level, and its very hard to replace. Impossible within the Pens organization, really. One of Sid or Geno go down and the other one is there...plus guys like Guentz and Phil around who can pick up production.
Letang and Rust back will help ease the Genoless pain... |

IDK I really don’t think McCann is that good as a C. I’d at least try Blueger at 3C to see if that’s an effective enough stop gap that lets us keep McCann on wing. |

Let's agree now to split the games and have them both go to OT. |
