I know your Svechnikov bit was just bait for me but (frank) it I'm taking it:
He's spent the majority of the year on a line with Lukas Wallmark and Jordan Martinook, where he's required to carry the defensive load. Seriously.
When they flipped Svech and Ferland around Svechnikov's production improved, but that 3rd line got absolutely caved in.
He's been the best forward on the ice for the last month or so. He just doesn't play with anyone good. Ever.
As for the PP thing, they put him down at the side of the net on the 2nd powerplay unit and he never touches the puck. 1st unit is primarily just TT and Aho playing catch up high for a minute and a half, and then the second unit is the same thing, but with Hamilton and Slavin doing it instead. The Canes never work down low with the puck on the PP. It's infuriating. |

That Pettersson kid has been unbelievable for the Canucks, bright bright future for him. It amazes me that their management group had enough intelligence to pick him, but good on em.
Funny, Peter Forsberg, whom you mentioned, was drafted at 6th, I believe it was, and Pettersson 5th overall. No disrespect to Fat Ballon, Scott Lachance or Aaron Wardo but Forsberg was one of the greatest ever.
I’m sure Canucks fans are hoping the same is true of Pettersson. |

Don't forget Donato was traded for Chahlie Coyle who has done the square root of sweet (frank) all since joining the Bruins. |

I was going to say this. He's been a huge part of their push since January, which is the second best recond in the show behind TB. He spent the first half of the year basically on a island, he's playing with a good line now and his production has reflected it. The number of guys who go onto to be superstars after 20/20 rookie seasons is pretty long, I wouldn't be worried were I a Canes fan. Canes are my darkhorse team to come out of the first round.

They put him back on the 3rd line last game because it was horrible without him.
The gap between his skill set and Micheal Ferland is very, very large. |

You have to wonder. GM's love the idea of that type of guy. Sign him longterm and 4 years later, everybody looks like an idiot. |

Donato has been great for the Wild, it's the one redemptive trade from an absolute trainwreck of a TDL for Fenton. Just got fleeced otherwise. |

Especially with conc issues. They don't exactly show an upward swing historically. NUcker's right, JB will do it 5.5 x5 and the fanbase will rejoice. Thing is, it'll be great until that first injury. |

They'll see back to back 40 point seasons and a +12 or whatever, remember some of his bigger hits, and they'll fork over $5+ mill no questions asked.
Then they'll realize that when Gaudreau and Aho aren't bouncing pucks in the net off his junk he doesn't really do much. |

Binnington's not a journeyman. After some preseason glimpses and a relief appearance where he looked down right afraid to be on the ice his play went down a bit in the minors. He got passed up but resurged last season in the AHL. Good enough to get some preseason looks but again looked overwhelmed.
Well the next guy, Husso had injury issues and faltered. The Blues goaltending and season was sucking. They threw him out there after looking good in the A and losing Johnson on waivers and he finally played like he could.
He's a solid goalie but I wouldn't say great as of yet. Which twlls you sll you need to know about Allen. Binnington has some extra ability and swagger, so who knows--I mean he's a goalie and very few now a days look completely like sure things--Vaslesky, Boborovsky, Murray, Holtby, Gibson, Hart, Crawford, Price. |

25 years old=journeyman I believe is what he is referring to. I love how cagey STL fans are now that Allen flopped and of course years of Elliott |

I haven't found him to be crazy at all, just good at stirring it up and willing to toss hands if need be. If they did a similar 3-4 year deal on Ferland I wouldnt be as upset. 3x5 I could live with at least. |

Cernak's a beast. The Lightning should have a great D core for years to come with the likes of Hedman, McDonough, Sergachev, Cernak, and Foote. |
