Well, it was strike first or wait for The Pag’s to fire me I guess was his thought process. It was the right move. Housley system
Clearly did not resonate. It’s fair to say he had more depth in Nashville but his lack of flexibility in his coaching style is not going to get the job done here. |

That doesn't mean housley is exempt from criticism?
Why deflect homie's good point? - Boss34
Did I absolve him of criticism?
Every coach in the NHL favors vets over young kids. It's just how it is. I fully expect the next guy to do it too.
Doesn't make it "right". It's just what it is. |

Good coach but his shelve life has run out and don't think he wants to coach. |

Good point, even though he is only 60. I have a bad feeling they are going to f**k this up. I really hope not. |

If Botterill screws this up this could be a major disaster, I know i'm making it sound like this is the end of the world and teams do this all the time however, this is the Buffalo Sabres and we don't have a very good track record. |

Well if he is the right gm he won’t screw it up... if not we will be looking for a gm and a coach next...
The guy from Sweden sounds like the best option, but i’m Afraid we end up with Taylor...

What’s the timeline we find out about interviews then hire a guy? Couple months to see if any playoff teams fire the bench boss ? |

Just curious why you would consider him a bad coach. He always seems to get a lot out of his players. And, his overall resume would point to him being pretty decent. |

He's not a bad coach. Playoffs 10/13 years, kept an old Minnesota team in the hunt this year, revived Eric Staal's career... You can debate whether he's right for this team, but he's not a bad coach. |

Why though. A lot of people are throwing their hats into the Rickard Gronberg ring, but why. What makes anyone certain he's going to be the right guy? Not saying he is, not saying he isn't.
I really hope our 3 GMs identify what they want in their next head coach, and make it real (frank)ing specific, because if another guy comes in here and doesn't know how to teach the players, we're going to have a real problem here. |

Three (3)?

You really should include Botts in there, he does have the title.
Let's make it 4
Homie posted an article written about the Swede in the last blog...somewhere around page 4 (+-).
His experience to date is pretty extensive on both sides of the pond, and he has a ton of experience working with the youth (uts)...said to be a development coach.
I liked what I read, who really knows about any of them.
AV and Q are said to rely heavily on vets and aren't strong development-type coaches.
One would think the Sabres roster is going to get younger over the next year + and proper development will be required. |

isn't Bylsma coaching as an assistant in the NHL somewhere? Does he still get paid by Buffalo then? |
