I wouldn't hate it, considering who's out there with experience.
Any thoughts on Botterill not interviewing Grönborg? |

Boston trades Thornton for nothing, Kessel for Seguin and Hamilton, then proceeded to trade Seguin for nothing. Hamilton traded for futures. That team has still been in the thick of things for years though on the backs of Bergeron and Chara even though they lose every trade they make. |

from what I read, botts is looking for a head coach with nhl experience (wonders if that eliminates keefe)...gronborg hasn't spent a full season behind the bench in 14 years...
from a pr perspective, they could bring ruff back then bump him up in the organization when they find their head coach...i'd take him over any candidate that's available right now

From last thread:
I wouldn't HATE Kevin Dineen but he's a retread with 1 good year like Tippett is a retread with a few good years but neither were successful in their last like 3-4 years.
I like Dineen more than Tippett just because of time spent with the Blackhawks under Q and all of that obvious success. |

Former Saints’ TE Benjamin Watson, who had intended to retire, is in New England today visiting with the Patriots, per source. Watson also is considering the Chiefs, Bills and 49ers. His retirement didn’t last long.
WHAAAAT?
Isn't he like 80?
Also go Sharks |

I had to google it... I had forgotten Ruff was an assistant with the Rangers currently.
Ruff, Dineen, Tippett, Desjardins, uhhh.. retreads.
I've heard Stu Barnes (Stars Assistant). Not likely.
Maybe a Luke Richardson or Dallas Eakins... both who have had enormous AHL success and some NHL HC experience. Any thoughts on them? |

SUPPOSEDLY... we asked for Thomas or Kyrou and they countered with making the draft pick a 2nd instead of a 3rd or 4th if we took Tage Thompson instead. |

So maybe hire Ruff and a couple young guy assistants, and see if either one of those rise up as an heir?
I could get behind that |

Richardson was supposedly high on tim murray's list...take if for what you will...eakins really does nothing for me...i'd hate stu barnes, plus he has no head coaching experience |

Tavares being sent home from World Championships due to injury in today’s practice. Probably just got precautionary reasons but very interesting. |

I can't see it. Ruff is ancient and plays a defensive put all the stress on a goalie type system. Only reason he was successful in Dallas briefly was because of how good Seguin and Benn are. Then he found a way to make them a bottom 10 team. He was always viewed as a bad player development coach too.
If I am a betting man.... i bet Keefe but we have to pay good money for it. Which we will be ridiculed for. |

ruff was a good coach...and he wasn't just a defensive coach either...in the very least he'll play to the team's strengths and he should garner enough respect from Eichel and the rest to at least get this team going in the right direction...i'm not starting the hire ruff parade, just saying that they could do worse |

I think he adapts to his players more than you're giving him credit for. '05-'07, he let his horses run |
