Hides behind wall for safety. |

Unless you're putting him w Casey and Bure. |

Do we think Steve Smith is gonna hang around and be the D coach again next year? Is that a good thing? |

I had to google it... I couldn't believe that someone would be so upset because he was holding a stick in his right hand and it wasn't shooting.. He's just standing there. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW - JVince11

I don't hate the idea... but IMO it's more of a plan B.
I think we really need to try to add at least 2 top 6 guys like Marcus Johannson, Anders Lee, Brock Nelson, Nyquist, Dzingel, etc.
if we end up with only 1 or something and still need depth then maybe add Vanek for 3rd line to hopefully bury some pucks with ERod.
I'd be no less sad if they allowed VO or Nylander that ice time instead either though. |

Slooooooow,
but I guess he’d get us 15ish goals
So did Okposo though
Is he a “leader” to help some of the kids grow into professionals?
Ppl pretty regularly bashed him for a perceived lack of effort |

Usually
It’s assumed he’ll stay bc he was an assistant under Kruger in Edmonton when he was coach |

I guess we have to hope that Housley was confusing Smith's message. I'm not sure there's much to suggest Smith did a good job with Pilut - or the others for that matter |

Do we really want the same guy coaching the D again??? They underachieved again IMO. Maybe it was lack of depth.
PROS:
Dahlin played very well as an 18 year old
Bogo had his best year as a Sabre
Pilut looked promising
CONS:
Risto stayed the same. Some holes. Some pluses
McCabe didn't take a step forward IMO.
Montour didn't fill in well (common after late trades tho) |

Scandella regressed badly too. Bogo was healthier, but he still can't match his rookie numbers. Idk how much better he was than at any other time in his sabres tenure |

I'm still just baffled how our D never took a big step forward under Housley.
The dude coached some of the best D in the NHL in Nashville. Did Weber/Subban, Ellis, Josi, Ekholm, etc just make up for his lack of coaching with talent that much? |

Bogo had his best year as a Sabre was my point but true.
I forgot that Scandella and NB looked bad again. That's a con for sure.
