Carol Schram: Six Canucks on 3 teams prepare to battle Thursday in Worlds quarterfinals It's quarterfinal time at the IIHF World Championship. On Thursday, Quinn Hughes and Team USA will face a tough test against Russian in Bratislava. Over in Kosice, Troy Stecher and Canada will go up against Switzerland, while Elias Pettersson, Loui Eriksson and Team Sweden will go up against Finland.

There hasn’t been much discussion here regarding the World Championship, so I’m looking forward to your analysis on the games.

Watching Hughes here in Victoria and now in this tournament the kid has phenomenal skating abilities, and top caliber passing abilities. I don’t think USA will better Russia, but here’s hoping

Pettersson is on the verge of greatness (IMO) and I actually feel like the Canucks have the makings of a really good team hopefully for years to come.

I get all the Benning is an idiot references from fans that perceive they are more knowledgeable about the industry, player negotiating, talent structure etc, I’m not one of those fans.

I think with minimal injuries (hopefully no key players injured) this team will be pushing for a wild card spot next year. Year after they will make the playoffs, mini can document this fans prediction to ridicule me if he wants.

I also know I’m setting myself up to be flamed, so there it is, flame away.
