It's going to get real interesting if they don't come out of the gates like a ball of fire. Could be a knee-jerk reaction trade, and those could be a crap shoot |

Fletcher claimed in September that there would be a "flow of players" between the Phantoms and the Flyers early in the season. Any chance he gets his flow going today by sending Bunnaman and/or Twarynski down and replacing them with someone like Farabee?
I don’t like the term final cuts. I don’t know that there are ever final cuts. Again, I can’t keep stressing that we are going to put a roster together to play against Chicago. We certainly reserve the right to immediately make changes for the New Jersey game or the Vancouver game. There’s not going to be any final roster or final cuts. There’s going to be a flow of players between Philadelphia and Lehigh Valley for the early part of the season in my opinion, depending who we’re playing, the health of our team, whether we need right-shots or left-shots, wingers or centermen. |

I don't think Farabee will come up yet. But I wouldn't be surprised if Bunnaman goes down today and Vorobyev or Rubtsov (but his timetable may be similar to Farabee's) comes up. |

Totally agree with this. For years this team has carried the play in games and just not been able to finish and score. Because we don’t have snipers. Look at Draisaitl first goal... give him that look and shot 10 times and he scores 6-7 times out of 10. Give any flyer that same shot 10 times and they score maybe once or twice out of 10. In this league that equates to winning and losing - SMS4016
What years? Going back to the lockout the Flyers are 17th out of 31 teams in GF/GP. Middle of the pack, and far from the bottom.
http://www.nhl.com/stats/...te,1&sort=goalsForPerGame
In SAT% they are 18th, so they have not been a team that carried the play more than average.
http://www.nhl.com/stats/...e,1&sort=shotAttemptsPctg
Last year they were 18th in shooting %, 0.1 behind the Cup winning Blues.

I would like that move. Bunnaman has potential, but I don't think he's ready to be an everyday NHL center. |

Flyers Shooting percentages since the lockout
18-19: 18th
17-18: 12th
16-17: 24th
15-16: 25th
14-15: 17th
13-14: 9th
12-13: 11th
Outside of Hak's first two years where the team was built around shooting from the point, the Flyers have not been particularly low percentage shooters. |

JVR is a goal scorer, not a sniper. He scores 80% of his goals right in front of the net. Not that i think this team is in dire need of a sniper, but to compare his shooting percentages to Senko and Kane does not make him a sniper. |

The Flyers have guys that can score and possibly put up 30 or so goals, but they lack an elite goal scorer.
I want that one guy that other teams fear. Be it a Reggie Leach, Tim Kerr, Lindros/Leclair, Jeff Carter; this team could use a guy like that.
Sadly they’re very hard to find. It’s why, though I think York has potential to be a very good Dman, I would have rolled the dice and selected Caufield. He may be undersized, but all that kid does is put pucks in the net. |

Maybe, depends on the cost to get him. Like I posted earlier though, my real preference would have been to draft Caufield. |

It makes him about as likely to put a shot into the net as they are, which is what matters. |

Why even compare Kane and the dyke? |

Konecny's career S% is 12.4, and it''s been going up the past two years.

That's very true but one major difference is that top goal scorers are able to generate more shots. More shots at the same percentage means more goals scored. |

Big picture yes. But I'd still wonder with all the fancy stats in today's game, if they could breakdown how many of JVR's goals were actual shots as opposed to his net front goals? |

Carter didn't break 30 goals till his 4th season, which is what Konecny is poised to do. |

My only point is that shooting percentage should be referenced to those who are know as a "shooter". Or sniper if you will.
I don't feel it's apples to apples comparing the likes of Ovi, Laine, Tarasenko to those of JVR's skill set. |

Not many. - ClaudeFather
Yeah how bout it?
I will say that was a sick snipe against the Caps. Backhander against Chicago was funny. |

Haha the caps one was early too, 80% of those goals were all right in front. We need to get the PP going, lets get G back on his side. One thing i will say about the powerplay though is that I like that they are running some set plays, there was a nice one in Calgary where it ended up I think Jake and Ghost up top with the other 3 crashing the net. |
