To be fair, you can easily switch out Goalies for defencemen...or grit. |

the leafs should inquire about Crawford or Lehner. Ask also if they can retain half of the salary (for a higher price/draft pick). Both are UFA after this season, so the Hawks might be willing to accept maybe a 2nd rounder for either goalie with half salary retained. |

On NHL Network they said TOR only got 1pt from their backup this season after getting around 30pts in the standings last season. Big drop off. |

If the Leafs give up anything of value Mike might lose it. How about Georgiev for a 1st round pick? |

I want nothing to do with this guy. We need a bonafide top six sniper. Not an overrated player from the worst team in hockey |

That would be pretty awesome to get one of those guys. Too much to hope for I think though |

depends on how bad the Leafs really need a goalie. If theyre going to ask for a half salary retained, I think a 2nd rounder is a start. If the Hawks wants more, they can do a conditional, the 2nd rounder can become 1st rounder if the Leafs wins the cup (or something like that).
the beauty of acquiring Crawford or Lehner is, either one's contract expires this season, so the Leafs wont be on the hook for any long salary. Same reason why the Hawks might be willing to retain salary too. |

If the Leafs continue to struggle, perhaps a coaching change is in order. I hear Mike Babcock is available. He has tons of experience and comes from a winning pedigree at not just the NHL level, but internationally as well. He'd likely be expensive, as he is one of the best to ever coach, but he might be just what the doctor ordered. He'd also be really good with the younger guys like Marner and Matthews. |

Don’t even respond to the douche nozzle.
Panarin signed with the Rags because his wife/girlfriend wanted to be in NYC for her career. LA was choice #2.
He really will get more money per game playing for the Rags because there are no PO games

Don't get too excited. 3rd in the Atlantic would be good for 6th in the Metro. |

Yeah and retaining would increase their return. I'm sure there will be a lot of teams clamoring for these guys come the TDL. Leafs need a serviceable backup. They can't win without Andersen in net so obviously if he gets hurt their chances are done. My only reservation about getting a guy like Lehner is that the Leafs have a history of destroying goalie confidence by putting the other guy in over one bad game. If Lehner creates competition for #1 then, historically speaking, this could cripple the team. Crawford could come in and everyone would understand that he's not fighting for Freddie's spot. |

They don’t have to look any further than Hutchison. Give the guy a break and play some good hockey in front of him. Hang him out to dry then he’s an easy target while the rest just sit back and count the money they received for what they may do down the road.
If you really want to hammer down on anyone take another look at the front office. At one time the leafs had more good backup goalies than any team then some real bad decisions were made. |

As much as it pains me to give the Rangers advice - they should trade Georgiev (sp) as they have the other Russian in the AHL and he's supposed to be even better.
The popular thought is that the Rangers rebuild is over but it isn't. A first round from TOR would go a long way to building back a depleted young core. Panerin and Trouba are nice but that isn't going to cut it in the Metro or anywhere in the East. They need more talent and this move gives them a cheap, no-pain solution.
TOR has little to no choice right now. Their window is OPEN and they need to go for it. |
