Just because Eichel isn’t as good as Matthews, doesn’t mean he isn’t still a deadly player. The dude is unreal. We saw last night just how much he means to this team.
Issue is a complete mismanagement of the roster around him. Poor trades (Kane x 2, O’Reilly), poor draft picks (Nylander, Reinhart), ill-conceived FA signings (Skinner, Okposo), and the constant dumping of assets in exchange for mediocre, replacement-level (at best) talent on the back end (Scandella, Montour, Miller) has crippled this team.

utterly embarrassing and peppered with aggressive, classless posts that "fans" use as an attempt to prove how "smart" they are. |

Eichel has a 14 point lead on Matthews this season, and well over 20 points more over the past 3 seasons.
He's also produced at a higher rate than Matthews over that same time period, so the missed time for Auston doesn't count. |

We're not going to know the answer to this question for another decade at least. All we know this year is that Eichel is having the better season. |

Matthews is the bigger name. Eichel is the better player. Right now. |

From Spector's page:
He points out Buffalo Sabres blueliners Colin Miller, Zach Bogosian, and Marco Scandella are among those in the rumor mill for some time. Carolina Hurricanes rearguards Jake Gardiner, Trevor van Riemsdyk, and Joel Edmundson are also out there.
McKenzie said the market’s been soft for those defensemen that are available.
SPECTOR’S NOTE: Clubs in need of defensemen might be awaiting better options to appear in the trade market. Some of those teams could also be unwilling to part with a scoring forward.
Salary cap issues could also be a factor. Bogosian, for example, is carrying a $5.14-million cap hit this season while Scandella’s cap hit is $4 million. Gardiner’s earning over $4 million annually through 2022-23.
The 'Do something Botts' crowd needs to realize that making a trade isn't as easy as hitting the submit button on your Xbox controller. It takes at least two GMs to make a trade. We all know we need to make a trade, and I'm sure Botts is working the phones to get something done. |

Trevor Van Riemsdyk would be the most Buffalo pick-up ever

No one makes trades more difficult than Botterill. Hopefully he's 10 months into his 15 month process of trading a 3rd for a mediocre winger |

I don’t understand why fans obsess over things like Eichel being better or worse than Matthews, winning a trade, or over whether or not tanking was the right thing to do. Like fans need minuscule and even meaningless victories for what? |

Pegula didn't want JE to reach his hero Perreault's record. So he fed the team scrapple with their breakfast in Philly yesterday, and extra cheezwiz on Jack's cheesesteak at lunch. |

3 years into the Botterill "process"
The top line all picked by Murray
Krueger's favorite D pair picked by Darcy
Starting goalie picked by Darcy
LOG line picked by Murray
3 years |
