Mike Hoffman and Tanner Pearson are both from Kitchener, Ontario. They are three years apart in age and never played junior together. I don't know if just city of birth is a big enough connection. Maybe they've become friends and hang out during the off-season?

I heard a rumour that Pecan Subban was available, and that NJ is looking to replace a recently lost goal-scoring left-winger. Apparently there's a whole wing in a Montreal hospital that is already named after Subban.

Nobody said Pageau has been an all-star his whole career - but this year he's at 0.67 PPG, has more goals than either Tavares or Point, and can play effectively in any game situation. If you just want nice career numbers, go trade for Thornton and his stellar 0.93 PPG... I'm sure the Sharks would be happy to part ways ASAP.

It would be interesting to know what the Oilers are offering... you have to think they're at least trying to work out a swap involving Puljujarvi.
