Burke use to deal with Anaheim all the time. Now Dubas is going to deal with LA all the time.

Time to talk about Doughty.

Really it is simle. Campbell is capable of holding the fort short term same as when Quick goes down, but is the backup at a decent price. Freddy will come back but now this is definitely an upgrade over what we have here. Hutch was brutal and given beyond more than one chance to get it together, but the fact out of a possible 30 points he could have gotten us this season has produced only 9?? I mean 3 wins, a lousy 6 points and its a totally different ballgame. Hutch sucks. Moving on.

Clifford is a solid player who should help some too. And honestly Hyman, Mik, and Clifford next year? Oh man liking that at least there. I think should be able to re-sign and retain him.

Like to see them add Dillon too there. If we are gonna make a move well, nice to ensure the guys are also over in the west there.

If only someone stupid as a GM would take Ceci off our hands for a bag of pucks! Even better an xl timmies coffee for Ceci and Marincrap.

Moore + a 2nd (you have to assume that Campbell will win at least 6 games with Freddy potentially out for a week and then something) and a 3rd...?

frigging overpay.

rather would have liked Leafs giving up another player - and I'm not that convinced that Campbell is the solution here.

What really rubs me the wrong way is that Dubas only seems to focus on players/people that he has ties with from the past: Keefe, Sandin, scouts and other technical staff he brought in, and now Clifford and Campbell..

lot's of talk about 'young generation / new ways' but it seems that Dubas runs things more old style than Burkie and Lou combined.

(the bad Dubas/Keefe stories that will come out in 2+ years from now will be epic imo).

The fact that you hate this makes me feel like it’s going to work out better. I heard Clifford hates Hintz too.

The ties with some of the moves made can certainly raise some questions. But how about giving it time and see how it unfolds a little longer than a couple months or even days before complaining.

Leafs still have Kap/Johnsson + Bracco as trade chips towards a defenseman.

We hopefully got the 'backup and grit' situation that everyone was so desperately wanting. Let's see how it plays out.

The last checkmark is finding a good defenseman.

We can always sign FA's whether is players in the NHL already or overseas like Mikheyev to make up for picks we have traded so it isn't the end of the world.

Leafs and Clifford and all of a sudden eVerybody is was on the 'need more grit' bandwagon?
I like Trevor Moore quite a bit - think it is a real pity leafs have given up on him this quickly..
(Considering leafs depth, type of players on roster and aphids, I would have preferred to keep him over Branch, Johnsson and a few others)

Nylander didnt bring a return?

Muzzin and Barrie not coming back? so we have money for a replacement.

Woll sucks, don't even bring him up as a future goalie for the Leafs yet. Hopefully he impresses within the next 2-3 years

Time to talk about Doughty. I do not care about his 11million salary. I have not seen any kings game last few year's, but I heard he is good. I am willing to give up Willie and John for him.

- JohnFergusonJr

His insane contract ends in 2027! I doubt Dubass will give up stars for him

maybe the most important part of the trade for Toronto is that now they have a signed goalie who meets the requirements to expose in the expansion draft

This is an overpay? Da (frank)?

The leafs traded a meh 4th liner and got back a better 4th liner with experience and a backup goalie they needed.

If the leafs send hutch down then this trade literally has 0 effect on the cap. This is a very good deal for the leafs.

Only dubas hires people he knows previously? You might want to look around the nhl a bit, happens all the time to every (frank)ing team ever. Also, you know that there are benefits to hiring people you're familiar with, in that you know how they'll work and fit in with the rest if the group.

Lol at people trying to turn this into a negative.

I like this low risk move, Campbell signed for a reasonable number for two years, 4th line left winger with 2 rings and some grit. Not much given up. I think Dubas will add a d-man still. It won't be Doughty even though CKOUG is jerking off at the prospect.

Also people hiring people they are familiar with happens in every walk of life all over the world because it's common sense.
