Watching the game I get the sense Ward is going to have to swap some guys from top & 2nd line to help support those bottom 6.

Which of course would weaken those top 2 but you can’t win in the playoffs with 6 guys only.

The game wasn’t remotely as close as final score indicated.

Was great to see the all women broadcast. That should happen more often.

What I didn't get was how do they show that it's all women in front and behind the camera and then still feel the need not to give Ron MacLean the night off?

Oh absolutely. Who do men think they are? The shrillest and loudest voices on the left should be heard and championed. It's disgusting that men are so involved in the NHL - would love to see some women get a chance on the ice too. It's high time we start getting all of our advice from women, and visible minorities. Being a white man absolutely makes me sick to my stomach. I hope I am reborn as a handicap, bi-racial, gender-amorphous, green-touting, kambucha-sipping i-gen'er. Now who is with ME?!

Liked the concept, I do think Leah Hextall has a ways to go in terms of becoming a professional in game announcer, but it was a good first go and will get better over time no doubt

Bleeding points.

Cannot blame that last one on Rittich but we are not in the same league as the nights.

Tough loss, huge implications.

Anyways, if Backs keeps this play up he will pass Monahan in points. Don't know what to say about that besides one guys wants it more.

Mony's been working on transforming his game more this year than any prior, so I'm giving him a bit of benefit there - he's doubled his hit total over last year already, has become better in the dot, is getting more defensive zone starts - in short, you're watching a 2 way player develop - he's going in reverse of Backlund though, who took years to find his offensive stride.

This isn't about who wants it more, it's about how their relative development paths are shifting.

Bennett hasn’t been the same player ever since ward moved him back to the wing. I don’t get it!! for the 4 or 5 games he was at Center Bennett played the best hockey I have seen from him in quit some time.. put Jankowski on the wing or Ryan but leave Bennett where he was succeeding it has to be frustrating for him!!

So it looks like if Flames can beat out Nucks and Coyotes, they will make the playoffs Oilers and Vegas we can forget about now i guess

I’ve been quite impressed with the job Ward has done since stepping in and love how he had the balls to start changing the lines and experimenting when started taking over the coaching duties...But with all that said I’m actually really shocked and truly disappointed that he actually figured that putting in Rittich would greater the chance for a Flames win over Talbot who has clearly proven to be on top of his game a lot more on a consistent basis as of late...
To me it was absolutely a no brainer!!!

So for some reason, it's impossible for the Flames to overcome a 3 or 5 point deficit, but they should be worried because they only have a 3 and 5 point advantage?

Both the Oilers and Knights are catchable if the Flames keep playing how they've been playing.

That excuse has been used all year yet Monny's defensive metrics haven't changed since last year. If anything his possession stats have plummeted and so too has the offence.

I'm a white "privileged" male. And yeah, much of what has occurred within the western social sphere has left me confused or uneasy. But the world and its issues are not black or white, nor are the social issues we face as a species.

As to your post, what about a female sports broadcast angered you so? Campbell-Pascall and Hextall know their hockey, and overall I thought they did a pretty good job. Did you think otherwise? If so, what about their performance did you take exception with?

You can ignore my questions if you like, but no meaningful conversations ever occur when one deals in absolutes. That tends to be true whether you lean left or right.

Wow Piggy, is this guy really bent over this?????

Holy smokes, there are a lot of things going on right now to worry & get worked up about, certainly not whether some female broadcasters did the play by play on Womans Day at a random hockey game. Holy crap! Markets are plummeting, 1st death from virus in Canada today, job security is going to be an all time low at this pace. Yikes!!! I think you guys need another 1st over all pick to get focused on. Can you guys please start to tank, but please get Neal 2 more goals.

Equality makes us stronger. All of us are human beings and all deserve to be equal regardless of gender, race, religion and whatever other barriers we have created. If we are equal, we are stronger as we push each other to be better and there is no discrimination and negativity. I don't understand why people discriminate based on gender. Look no further than to your mom and sister... they are women and why should they not gain the same respect and recognition than any other man. We are all very blessed to be living in these amazing countries and we should be thankful for it and values that we uphold including equality for all human beings.

As for hockey, it sucks to see Vegas 5 points ahead today I do think Flames facing this adversity now will really help them in the playoffs. Losing games in the last-minute will make them fight more till the completion of the game. It will also make them more resilient. We have to be impressed that Flames are able to come back when they are down by 2-3 goals; like they don't give up like they use to... they believe they can come back which is great to see. Thursday is a big test... let's beat the isles and get back to winning ways

Flames can be out of a playoff spot by Thursday and on another note I prefer when there was no 3 point games. Right now the standings would look like this if there was no loooossseeer point.

Vegas 76
Oilers 74
Flames 72
Canucks 70
Arizona 66

They will go to 3 points for a reg win and 2 for OT with 1 for a loss before they get rid of the loser point

You are probably right on that one, its just to bad because a team can sneak into the playoffs with just that extra one loser point. I just like the old school way of 2 points for a regulation win or overtime win, and a tie each gets 1 point. Keep the OT format as is and maybe extend it to 6 minutes OT. Shootouts are just stupid and evil.
