Carol Schram: Toffoli: Canucks need to elevate from good to great after loss to Columbus Tyler Toffoli said it's the time of year where teams need to elevate their level of play from good to great if they hope to collect points from other hungry challengers after the Vancouver Canucks dropped a 2-1 decision to the Columbus Blue Jackets on Sunday at Rogers Arena.

Thanks Carol,

There's a lot of things to like about TT. Really hope we can re-sign him.

Thanks Carol.

Congrats on beating Lefty .

I honestly now think whatever happens , happens , as far as it goes with this team

They are not consistent so they provide fuel for my mood swings.

Yep. Fair.

I had a good chat with one of the CBJ beat writers at the rink last night. He emphasized that, especially with Seth Jones out, this is how Torts wants his team to play. The Canucks had a tough time breaking through, and didn't catch any breaks - except, perhaps, Petey's penalty call?

I am pretty excited about my win in the pool. Never dreamed I'd make the Top 4, although SMP's goaltending makes for a real tough matchup for me this week.

Remind me again - what's the prizing?

I am beginning to hate the term breaks

Travis Greens best excuse. I remember once Kesler had the puck lying on the goal line and a Flyer player had his stick wedged so Kes could not score or move it.

AV told him don't give me excuses , you have to find a way to get it to go in. It sort of turned Kes into a different player.

Not sure what the prizes are . If I win I am donating t food bank anyways

I liked the determination last night, columbus was able to dictate because they had the lead. Petey goal was all heart. They showed some good push, but Toffoli nailed and I have to agree i like the guy more with every game/interview. He’s a winner, we need that component going forward.

I'm tired of hearing "we played a good game but...". No more celebrating silver linings. No more excuses.

Should be pretty standard for Green over the next 4 games:

'We played well just couldn't get the W'...

Thanks Carol and congrats on giving me a good ole fashion ass kickin in the HB hockey pool

I was up in Prince George this weekend for my granddaughters second birthday so regardless of the beating I had a great time with her, she's starting to bond to papa, which makes me happy. Good luck the rest of the way!

As for the Canucks, they are who I thought they were

only team with less points than the Canucks since the beginning of February is Detroit.

The entire coaching staff needs to go.

It comes down to if your players have a good week or not . Anyone can get hot for a week or two.

Which is why I mentioned Toffoli who said it wasn't good enough. Also, I'll celebrate whatever I want, don't be trying to censor what I say/do.

I was agreeing with you. The 'you' was a general you. I suspected you might take it the wrong way. Was just trying to add on to your point.

May I suggest a visit to the woodpile.

Edit: Hey, I didn't even imply you. Try celebrating being less paranoid.
