Beauty of it is we wont have to protect him or Valimaki & I would say you protect Hanifin, Andersson & Gio. Would hate to see Kyllington picked off but wouldnt be the end of the world either. I doubt we see Brodie or Hamonic back next year, if there is one.

Scary New York exploded with 5000 cases. Scary, they literally live on top of each other. They're saying they expect this to peak by May, I just dont see any playoffs this year. I would say pull the trigger on this season period & then hope things can get back to normal where players can have a training camp & season in October. There is no guarantee on that hope either. Silver lining is we are seeing McDavid burning another year & maybe two off his contract

If it wasn’t for his draft position I think that Bennett would be a player that everyone would like in their bottom six for what he brings. I also thought that he looked a lot more comfortable when he was at Center the few games he got there this year.

All that said I wouldn’t mind seeing him traded. 2.5 aav is too high for what he does bring, especially given that we also have lucic in the bottom six. I think a fair amount of rebuilding/retooling teams that don’t yet have a 2nd line Center would give him try to see if a change a scenery can help him. Really is a shame the damage gulutzan did to guys like Bennett, Brodie and some others on the team.

This might sound crazy but cancel the season and resume the season when it is viable and play it out and have playoffs and then have a condensed regular seas season say two months after the cup is handed out. It would be fair for the teams that are on the bubble of a playoff spot.

I agree for the most part. The nhl is preparing a plan as if this were to be resolved 3 weeks from now just as much as they’re preparing for this be resolved 3 months from now. As each deadline passes they will move onto the next contingency plan after that. This situation is changing by the day, we have no idea where we’ll be a week from now let alone a month from now and after that. By the end of next week most of everyone that intends to travel back to their home country will have, so after the two week isolation period which roughly comes to Easter we will have a better idea as to how this will all play out. Of course I’m erring on the optimistic side but the point is we have no idea how long this will last.

The Flames staff has been showing interest and putting in 3 years or so of work trying to real in both Mackey and Poolman..
Mackey could be a huge sign but apparently Poolman ain’t no slouch either...

Oh sht almost forgot...love ya Bennett but if we’re not giving him a chance up the middle for a good period of time then screw it, babye..
If not hopefully he’ll be used in a package for something with some punch or speed but my more importantly, more consistent...
