If I look at the trade for future team success, Anaheim might get the edge here. Andersen has certainly played well and shored up the goal tending but Toronto's Achilles Heel is D...and Defensive play. Given how they are in salary cap hell, especially next season (whenever that is) where they have numerous guys to sign and no money to spend to do it. They can't win a Cup with the team they have now so Andersen's future success is limited..
Anaheim is rebuilding and they are in a division where Vegas and then Edmonton are the top teams. By the time the kids have matured, the Golden Knights may be past their prime with an aging Fleury and a few others and may be able to take a deeper step forward. Time will tell...

Andersen was very bad last year. Goaltending was a biggr eissue than D when you consider injuries.
And what team isn't in "Cap Hell"?

Its a good trade if Gibson stays healthy. Hes the superior goalie. And the Ducks got 2 solid players with the draft picks.

Really loved Freddy... hell still do.

That said SS and Comtois are a really nice package for Freddy. Max I think is going to blow up next year. He’s got all the tools to be a dynamite player.

Leafs got a really good goalie...

I’ll be curious to see if Sam steel is given more opportunity next year. Not exactly easy with two established centers in Henrique/Getzlaf ahead of him. I think he could become a high end 2C in the future if the ducks put him in a position to succeed.

He should ... the problem is Zegras is probably going to take some of his time if he sticks after the 9 game trial run...

Rico may have to shift to the wing.

Andersen was one of the worst starters in the entire NHL

True, I think zegras should start in the ahl myself but if he makes it that’s a good possibility. Given his age/contract I’ll be curious to see where Henrique fits in the ducks plans. I wonder if zegras makes it if Henrique is put on the block for picks/prospects or perhaps an established winger/D

Even more than that.. Rico would most probably be there for Seattle .. and Ducks would protect Silf. That would be best case for the team.

Then over the next couple years Trevor transitions to 1C with Sam2C and Getz doing the 1 yr deal program if he wants as 3rd C ..

If they get a monster pick this year.. another killer C or Drysdale.. well then all bets are off.

Maybe Ottawa. That's it. They have the Melnyk factor though. Think about how promising their future would be with a replacement level owner?

I don't think the Ducks are.
