Actually, I really have a question about Necas...will he stay at wing, or move to his original position of CENTER?
On a different topic...I hate the idea of having the draft before finishing the season! Also, hate not having any HOCKEY!

To me, I think he probably stays at wing (at least for the foreseeable future). If the plan was to shift him to center anytime soon, I think the Hurricanes may have made more of an effort to try and play him in the middle for stretches to test the waters. That said, it could always happen down the road but the problem right now is a lack of quality wingers who could step in to replace him if he shifted to center. Would also mean Jordan Staal is probably playing on the fourth line and overall right now, it just doesn't make much sense to shift him to center with the way Carolina's forward group is set up. Again though, maybe down the road.

As for the draft, I'm actually not a fan of the setup right now. The OHL does it before the end of their playoffs, and they base the draft order on regular season standings. I like this because it doesn't penalize lower seeded playoff teams for upsetting teams in the playoffs (ex. to me, CAR should've been picking 21st last year, rather than 28th).

Hope all is well!

from the limited time he played this season i think he could do it but who knows, he might just as easily be a flash in the pan. but it's always good to have young players in the pipeline who are ready to step up and advance the team further up the standings. bring back hockey real soon, stay safe all.
