Carol Schram: Canucks still have many questions to answer as Return to Play inches ahead
The NHL set its 24-team return-to-play format and cleared up a few other details in its announcement on Tuesday but the work is just beginning as Jim Benning and the Vancouver Canucks start to figure out how to re-assemble their team and get them ready to face the Minnesota Wild.
Nice work Carol. Funny how your season tickets were row 1 at the Coliseum because my second live game ever was game 1 against the Kings in 1993 and the scalper we bought tickets from only had 4 in a row on row 18 on the Canucks blueline and 2 front row right at the top of the face off circle in the Caucks zone. My brother and I were ok not sitting with our family. Watching Gretz up close was something else. But Bure up close was mind blowing.

He sure was. I loved being up close, feeling so close to the action. And kind of appreciate it even more now that I've spent so many years up high, watching from the press box.
It did take me awhile to realize that if I could hear the players, that meant they could also hear me. It all clicked one day when I yelled at Al MacInnis for choosing to pass instead of firing a big slap shot from the point — by that point, the Canucks were bad, so I got excited about seeing other teams' stars do their star-like things.
After the incredulous look that I got from MacInnis, I adjusted my heckling habits accordingly.
Thanks Carol! Pretty exciting, it’s fairly win-win for us. We either get into the playoffs or get a way better shot at a top pick than we likely would have. Either way, all things considered it’s good news for us. Wild is a very good matchup for us, they are a bit better defensively and we have theedge in net and up front by quite a bit. Finally some hockey to talk about folks, thank jebus!

We do? All that’s happened so far is the seasons been officially cancelled and players and owners have agreed on a format for a potential summer playoff tournament. Everything else is still an unknown. Is that really much different to where we were on March 12th when the season was “paused”?

You can break down any one of the matchups, so ya we do very straightforwardly. Don’t overthink it.
I sort of got the impression today listening to JB that he would be very happy to have this years draft pick and get the experience of playing the first round qualifier.
