I always thought the player's teammates/team responsible for nominating one player from their own team for this...I was wrong?

Its possible that Malkin was dealing with things the past few years we have no clue about but his band of Penguin brothers do and are proud of him overcoming it and whoever voted knows this...just a thought/possibility...

There’s plenty of really good choices for the trophy this year.

I think in my mind it would be tough to beat mcdavid or Markstrom.

I think each team should get one media member to be allowed to do distancing reporting on all of this...the facilitates are big enough...I think a lot of fans would love to be reading about whos on the ice on given days, what they're up to, injuries as they happen in camp, etc.

I was going to quote Vic from last thread, but all I really wanted to say is Montreal's 3rd pair may actually be worse than ours. And to agree with Vic and Romo that rust is a major wildcard.

Oh and on the subject of ridiculously healthy teams, Washington qualifies.

I wouldn't be upset, but I think Stephen Johns is also a good pick.

I saw a list confirmed mostly through social media though it might not be everyone.

Crosby, Malkin, Guentzel, Rust, Sheary, ZAR, Letang, Dumoulin, Ruhwedel, DeSmith, and D'Orio (spare goalie) have bern confirmed and I saw Angelo is at least on his way.

Noteworthy that most of the team's leaders and best players made it a point to be there the first day.

Hopefully not as he is a racist and bigoted POS. Also a big Trump supporter (of course). Besides that, I don't see Ryan as exemplifying "perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication to ice hockey." All of the aforementioned stuff aside, I've never thought of him as a team player or showing any sportsmanship. And perseverance from what? Himself? Dedication to hockey? I mean, he's got a fat contract that he's never lived up to. Maybe he's dedicated to not being a total waste? I'd rather it go to a likable player who has overcome an injury or some other challenge not of their own doing.

I was talking about rust as in guys not being in game shape after months lay-off. There’s a big difference between being physically in shape and your body being used to and reacting well to regular game action.
