There seems to be alot more "what ifs" in Buffalo than "what is." At this point the Sabres are like a dog chasing it's own tail. They keep rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic. They've been "rebuilding" for almost a decade now. They take for granted the loyal fanbase they have. Sure, the Sabres fans will groan and complain but they stick with their team no matter what. They deserve much better. How long before will it be before face of the Franchise Jack Eichel has had enough of the BS? He's already sending warning shots.

It just seems the next hire is always the next scapegoat. Too much finger pointing, deflecting and excuse making and it all starts at the top. Changes for the sake of making changes. Poor drafting, horrible trades and panic move desperation free agent signings have resulted in a franchise stuck in NHL purgatory. Fast tracking rebuilds is always a recipe for disaster. It's hard for the Pegulas to sell hope in Buffalo when all they've really done is sell Sabres fans a Bill of goods.

The Pegulas seem lost. There's no direction. How do you not even interview other GM candidates outside of your organization? It makes no sense. Do the Pegulas want a puppet? A yes man? Krueger is the head coach, right? So why does he have any say on who the new GM is? Isn't that the cart leading the horse? Can you imagine Jeff Blashill telling Steve Yzerman what to do? A team is usually a reflection of ownership and right now the Sabres mirror is broken.

Most of what your saying is true. The part about Ralph is there was always been to be a front office guy down the road.

The Sabres need to relieve Kim Pegula of her duties. It is quite evident that hockey is not her forte. Bring in someone who has won the cup as President and knows what they are doing. This charade has gone on for over a decade and I think we are all sick and tired of being the laughing stock of the NHL. To be fair to Kim, she is stretching herself too thin. You cannot be the President of two major league professional sports teams. It just doesn't work. The proof is in the pudding.

Thank you Captain Obvious...

The Sabres have taken a life long fan and completely turned me away from Hockey. Its not just the Pegula's, as the NHL hares part of the blame. From the constant "bad, one-sided officiating" to inconsistent penalty calling, maybe they need to put another referee on the ice to get in the way. Is it too much to ask to call interference when it occurs, every time ? The players will adapt quickly, but let the speed shine. They did it for a couple seasons and it was great, now the product is hard to watch on a good day.

What are they dong to improve the game? When is the last time we were able to watch for the shear enjoyment and artistry of the sport and skill of the players?? Why is the playing surface larger to accommodate the speed and size of today's players? Why do they allow goalie equipment to be 4X the size of the actual player?

I can't wait for Football season as I will not watch the NHL anymore.

I agree 100% that ownership needs to take responsibility for the state their in. I also get the fact it’s their money they hold the risk but come on, why does having a great deal of money make you successful at everything you touch? There are so many great hockey minds out there to chose from and to build with. Does ownership treat this organization like a hobby? All these years gone by in Buffalo and the process can’t be figured out? Yes I’m asking to many questions but take the blinders off look in the mirror. Interview all the possibilities, find the passionate persons and give them the tools to be successful.

Did not realize I had to be clever, just honest.
