Benning is a whipping boy for a lot of fans. Not sure why.
If we can move Russell, a Jones and Benning bottom pairing would be a solid and coat effective bottom pair. Assuming Jones can up his game a bit.
Really hope Green is not given a contract. Larsson, Bear, Benning, and Bouchard is set for the right side for next year. Klefbom, Nurse, Jones, Laggesson is a bit fragile but also good enough that Green need not apply. |

McDavid is the most underrated Oiler. Hes single handedly lifted this team from being an absolute tire fire disgrace, to the higher realms of mediocrity. |

Darnell Nurse is easily the most underrated. |

McDavid is vastly underrated. Do people not actually watch him play? He's already the greatest player of all time, and it's criminal that he's not going to be getting his fourth Hart in a row this year.
He's the perfect hockey player and can magically heal any injury by concentrating really hard. |

I vote Koskinen. While everyone loves Smith's fire, Koskinen quietly does his job well. Both guys split duties and Koskinen posted 2.75 GAA to Smith's 2.95. His SV was 917 versus a brutal 902. Koskinen was perfect in shootouts last year. Not a single goal against. Yet there are people thinking Smith should get the nod in the playoffs. Koskinen gets no respect. Its not his fault Chiarelli gave him this contract. |

Still McJesus. Yes he is considered elite, but he could become the GOAT. Matthews falling in practice gets more airtime on TSN than another 3 point McD night. - bikeguy99
He will need to learn how to play in his own end...nobody with over 100 points on a playoff team should be a minus player...I don't care what you think of the stat
|
|
|

Drai and McDavid minus stat can be forgiven somewhat due to the fact that Edm still has a weak defensive team and, Drai and McDavid play way more minutes then any forward should play. Playing those ridiculous minutes, is gonna takeaway from the overall game.
Yet they still dominate the game for the most part. |

As the Oilers defense matures, McDavid's +/- will drastically change.
I don't think his play in his own end needs to change much, just the team quality needs to catch up to him. And it will. |

It doesn’t need to change. A stronger defence and added depth up front will allow him to not have to force offence and busting out of the zone early. Any success the oilers have has literally depended on him carrying all the play. He’s not weak defensively. Hes had to play like that. There’s no chinks in his armour. He’s the best player alive by a country mile.
The defence comments will diminish Over time. |

McDavid is SO good that I can’t even tell if this person is kidding or being serious. Until the magic part, nothing here is outrageous. And even that, who knows?
He’s propped up such a pathetic and grossly mismanaged franchise, it’s crazy

Did you watch the documentary they did on his injury? He basically willed a completely severed tendon to reattach itself.

See how a real blogger answers a damn question Shawn Mablowny? Todd could of easily did a 4 paragraph troll job on how James Neal scoring 21% of his goals in one blowout game 1 month into the season made him an Oilers legend, but he's not a (frank)ing prat. |
