Not to be a stickler, but in every season teams either make the playoffs or have a shot at the first overall selection. The only difference this year is that we already know the outcome of the draft, sort of.

I’m not sure how you figure. It’s very possible that if they get this thingy off the ground the Wild win the series. It is also highly probable that the Canucks do not win the 1/8 lottery, thereby surrendering the 2021 first instead of the 2020, which is not protected.
