Did he honestly discuss his racism and bigotry? I must have missed that. |

Love Bobby ryan but how available is he for the seattle expansion draft? Do you think seattle will take him? |
|

Bobby Ryan has had his problems but has been a trouper for the Ottawa Senators. He willingly agreed to expose himself in the Vegas expansion draft knowing they would not pick him because of his expensive contract. As a side note Dion Phanuef refused to expose himself so we lost Methot which basically finished Phenuef’s career when an angry Pierre Dorian traded him to LA where he flopped badly. My vote for the Masterson is Bobby Ryan! |

Pretty good. Word from Belleville is that Formenton plays a strong two way game and is the most NHL ready of any Sens prospect.
Most Scouts believe Rossi will play in the NHL next year.
I think NCAA hockey will not start up for 2020-21 and Bernard-Docker and Pinto will be in the mix for a roster spot. Both play NHL type games and can handle physical play.
This Sens line up offers great lottery potential as well as hope for a very strong future.

I'm glad that Bobby Ryan got the help he needed, but I don't think overcoming an addiction is something that should be rewarded. Again, I don't wish a drug/alcohol addiction on anyone, and I think people should feel proud if they are able to overcome one. But just like drug addicts, no one forced him into drinking, he chose to do it. He may have had personal issues or other life situations where he wanted to escape, and that's unfortunate. I just don't agree with giving awards out for overcoming self-inflicted problems. I'd rather give awards out for people who have never developed a self-inflicted problem. |

Alcoholism has been designated a disease by the American Medical Association since 1956. Nobody starts off life wanting to be an alcoholic. Bobby Ryan had a horrendous childhood. He escaped the anguish of his home life by becoming a rink rat. He found a belonging on the ice playing hockey whenever he could. He is not alone. There are many like him.
It does not matter if he wins the overall award, the other nominees have inspiring stories as well. But, Bobby Ryan inspires others who have gone before and follow in his footsteps.
If he continues on his recovery pathway, he has guaranteed himself a meaningful lifetime role in hockey. He is a fine speaker, a warm personality and he will go on to help others.

Not my experience at all. I know from a few people around the building that he is very popular with the staff working the lower paid jobs. He talks with everyone and people think of him as being a really nice guy. Lots of examples of his kindness towards others.
Make no mistake I am 100% pulling for him.
I was opposed to the Sens giving him the big dollar retirement extension. But this is different. This is about a young man trying to get his life back.

I don't know much about his childhood other than he grew up in a very wealthy section of South NJ (Cherry Hill). I never said he set out to become an alcoholic, I just said that no one forced him to become on, either. It's listed as a disease, but it's also a self-inflicted disease. Again, I'm glad he sought treatment, but I don't think awards should be handed out for overcoming self-inflicted problems is all. |

I literally tried to find anything about him being a racist.
I googled "Bobby Ryan Racist".
All I could find was an article about how he apparently doesn't use Slurs but "coded Language" when tweeting.
And how he scaled back his twitter use because he was sick of people over analyzing everything he posted.
Sounds to me like people looking for racism that isn't there, so they have to make it up and call it "coded language".
Especially from Bobby Ryan who is very openly friends with Duclair. I can't see anything about him being called a racist as true.
When hateful people go looking for something like racism, they will find a way to make it sound that way. Basically if you go looking for racism, doesn't matter if it's there or not, you'll find it.
My experience with the few times I've met Bobby Ryan, He's one of the nicest guys you'd ever meet. |

Thanks, didn't know that. Sounds a lot like what Patrick O'Sullivan went through, only his dad would beat on his son, not his wife. That's gotta be horrible to go through.
Still say alcoholism is a self-inflicted disease. |

He apparently liked some things that Trump tweeted out, wasn't a fan of Muslim immigrants, and put a "DO NOT DISTURB" sign on his window during a BLM protest while he was trying to get a pre-game nap.
Obviously he's the Grand Dragon of the KKK with such atrocious behavior. |

The problem with that is, hitting a like button or thumbs up or or heart or whatever of someone's post. Doesn't make you a racist, maybe he's just a Trump fan. Maybe what Trump said wasn't racist but some view it that way.
Trump is a controversial person to say the least. But like I said before, people who go looking for racism are going to find it.
As for the Do Not Disturb thing... that isn't racist at all. He likely just wanted to have a pre game nap... nothing wrong with that.
Not to mention the BLM movement can be wonderful but has huge flaws. They have openly stated that their goal is to "Disrupt and abolish the classic American Nuclear family" meaning they don't agree with families who have a mother and a father in the same house hold. Not to mention the fact that is a pretty openly marxist organization.
But again, none of that has to do with Bobby Ryan apparently being racist.

Don't necessarily disagree, just wanted to point out that there's more to his story than just a guy who started drinking too much.

Yup this. No one put the drinks in Bobby's hands, he grabbed those himself. You aren't born an alcoholic, you choose to be one. And now he gets rewarded for getting out of the situation he put himself in. Nice work world. |

spoken like someone who's never seen someone experience alcoholism or experienced it themselves. way to be ignorant.
do you also blame people who suffer from depression.....i mean nobody put those bad thoughts in their heads, those people thought those thoughts all by themselves.
try learning about alcoholism before making ignorant and uninformed statements about it. |

I tend to believe none of those statements is true given I follow his instagram account and never seen him like or repost anything political, never heard him give a single opinion on politics or immigration (in this city we would’ve heard about it) and there was no hockey going on during the BLM protests this year. The league had shut down before that bumhole choked out George Floyd for nine straight minutes, looking on with impunity at a recording camera. So your timeline makes no sense and raises suspicion of all the claims you have made.
