While I don't think that Lindblom is going to win, he is deserving. The character and positive thinking that he has reportedly shown going through what he did is remarkable. I'm going to make a prediction. While already a good player, going through the experience of possibly never playing again, is going to make him an even better player if he is able to play again. A player who was already driven will now become more determined.
Glad to hear that AV was able to see his parents. As someone who also has a parent suffering from dementia and having to care for, I know what he is going through. |

In the meantime, veteran forward Raffl is one of the longest-tenured players on the Flyers. Only Claude Giroux and Jakub Voracek have been with the team longer on a continuous basis (i.e., James van Riemsdyk is in his second Flyers stint). While recent past editions of the Flyers have also gotten along well internally, the dressing room atmosphere that has emerged this year has been one where players love to come to the rink and winning is expected.
Couturier has been with the team longer than Raffl. |

Not sure why I didn't list Couturier.... I had intended it to say "Giroux, Couturier and Voracek" and somehow omitted Couturier. Thanks.... will get it added to the article.

This is exactly how I expect that Oskar is going to respond. This is the first time I've heard that it was in his rib, too. Any location is bad, but this one may be the least bad considering that the disease often attacks arms and leg or hip and lower back. God bless Oskar! He's been a huge inspiration to more people than he will ever know.
Re: dementia, that sucks for your parent and you. My mom went through it for a long time but it was a very slow process for her. She passed from something else 4 years ago, so she never got too bad that she couldn't recognize anyone. It's an insidious disease. |

Great to hear about AV's mother. My dad had dementia, and it was indirectly because of his condition that he passed away a few years ago. My mom was an absolute hero(ine) in her care for him. |

Its interesting how many people have similar stories, a function of the age demographics of users here, I suspect. My dad did not have dementia, he had something worse - brain cancer, which robbed a 76 year old man who worked 6 days a week of well, pretty much everything: the ability to speak, walk, think, and towards the end, recognize people, even his only child.
My mom aged twenty years in the 3 he lived between diagnosis and death. They had been married for 50 years and had known each other in the same neighborhood as kids, from before they were ten. It took a brutal toll on her, and she has early but very clear symptoms of dementia now (could be unrelated, who knows, but I suspect related).
Brain ailments are horrible things.
Its nice to see the sheer joy in the faces of AV's parents in the picture. |

It is very sad. My fiance's mother is suffering from it as well. She has good days and bad days. The quarantine has taken its toll and she has not been able to visit with her for almost 4 months.
thankfully she is in a good facility that zoom with her every week.

Sorry to hear about your Dad.
It's not a question of demographics. It's simply life.

Not sure how he was “cancelled”. Make those kind of comments about your coworkers online and see what happens. It’s called consequences. What an entitled wiener.

Jackson and Jones were caught on camera talking poop about certain players in a broadcast, in a middle of an intermission. Was he fired?
JR talks about a threesome off duty. Won’t be the first, won’t be the last. It could have been swept under the rug because nobody cares. |

No, its age related demographics. As one gets older, do obviously do the age of one's parents. Because so many of us here are boomers, our parents are at the age when cancer, brain cancer and esp dementia are much more prevalent. |

The difference between the two instances is that in the first, the talkers had an illusion of privacy. JR made those comments in a public forum.
No employee in today's culture , let alone in the media, can talk about having a 3some with a colleague in a media event and expect to get away with it. You may not agree with the standards , but it will be very very for him to prove bias given what is on tape.
I am sorry to see JR head this route. Like many sports stars, he has not been able to handle the loss of adrenaline and needs to manufacture it himself. |

You know what’s happening in today’s culture? We have a president that openly blames China for Covid and in doing so, Americans attack Chinese businesses. That’s real Irresponsibility. This is the leader of our country with real negative results. |

You had a former president stoke racial differences when in office and now you have race related violence occurring on a regular basis. |
