Ben Shelley: Reviewing this week's polls (July 18): Islanders Edition

Looks like we'll get to see Pags and Barzal on the ice together on the 1st PP unit. I think those 2 will have chemistry. Trotz is testing a different approach and keeping lines together for the PP. 1st PP unit is Barzal line plus Pags, and he's adding Brassard to the second line/unit. That may be good considering the chemistry Bras and Beau displayed earlier in the year.

I like that Trotz said hes not happy with the level they are practicing at....keep pushing these boys Trotz!

I was surprised to hear him say that. Trotz doesn't show much emotion, but he seemed to be a little frustrated. He did say that some of the younger guys are making a case for earning a spot, and he signaled out Ross J as one of those.

I hope Wahlstrom or Koivula can displace Komarov. It's a waste of Pags talent to have him centering a line with someone who has little offensive skills.

For what it's worth, EK is now saying the Isles have asked the Rags and Devils if they could potentially play home games next season at MSG and/or the Rock. Sounds like a ploy to work something out with Nassau. It never ends....

So nice to have a real coach.. I have so much faith in this staff getting this team where it needs to be.
