Wrong. I tried to make that argument. I argued that having bottom 6 guys like Lars Eller or Colton Scissons making $2-4M was valuable. But Tanner lectured me about elite stars, faceoffs don't matter, blocking shots doesn't matter, so your entire bottom 6 should be $1M or less to make room for another superstar contract.

Jimmy also said your star players shouldn't play on the power play so they can be rested for 5 on 5 play. Leafs are the best team in the salary cap era. Best top 6 forwards in the NHL. And now he's saying they have the best 3rd line in the NHL because of Robertson even though he hasn't played a game yet.

Teams should definitely avoid paying out money to average players, and the rule of thumb is don't pay anyone who isn't at least potentially elite more than the league minimum.

kerplunk will be one of the main reasons we lose to cbus.

will get blown up so many times and will start playing with anxiety when the puck is on his stick. everyone will blame freddy and miss that kerplunk is on the ice for a lot of bad goals.

cbus' biggest potential mistake will be to come at him too hard and injure him the first game.

by game 3 keefe will be playing him < 10 minutes a game.

Leafs are built the right way in terms of paying an elite core. Teams overpaying 4th liners are idiots.
