It seems like he's able to use his size effectively and is willing to throw his body around. It also seems like his defensive game is really rough, and Detroit has the worst defense in the NHL as of last season. It would depend on what the Wings give up to get him, but he seems risky to give away players or picks of quality imo. |

I think what you’ve said is the “knock” on him. I may be willing to flip a second (we have three this year and 2 next year). |

Virtanen (or any piece) that has future upside will likely have Loui Erickson attached if at all possible.
Virtanen will have a couple good seasons in his career, and that might be sooner if he gets into another environment where he is counted on to contribute. He is been sheltered a lot in Vancouver and given ample time to develop properly, but he has never taken the next step in his own in this environment and they have never given him the push.
Perhaps the convo would be Virtanen and Erickson for a low 3rd. |

Yzerman will want nothing to do with Huey Loui. He already has a couple of boat anchor cap sucking contracts in Abdelkader and Nielsen. Keep Virtanen. He's nothing special. |

Chiareli might take him. Didn’t he trade Seguin for him once? If he’s at the GM desk again anything is possible |

Why is there even a detroit chat room with day to day posts?
Draft some good players and talk to you in 5 years. |

I miss Chia. He essentially traded both Seguin and Hall for a steaming pile of garbage.

Pretty sure Lehigh would destroy the Red Wings in a best of 7.

Ahhhh....I see the meds have worn off. Nice to have Goofy here tonight. Hope you feel better, don't mind the new "I love me" jacket; all residents of the Ha-Ha Hilton get to wear one....and they're free, which I'm sure fits your empty pocket book, and mind. Sleep well, Princess. |

Not sure why you are saying Van doesn’t have a First round pick in the upcoming draft. That is still to be determined. If Vancouver loses to Minnesota, they retain the pick, and New Jersey will get it next year. The Canucks had discussions with the league about this. |

Unless they can basically get him for nothing like Fabbri, it would be a hard pass from me. Wingers are not a main need. I would rather (if they are going to spend assets) they do it for positions of need like center, defense and goaltending.
1st/2nd line center, top pair left handed dman and good young goalie are the major holes they need to address if they ever hope to climb out of the basement. |
