Im not sold that Hall is the answer for Calgary. There is clearly something missing. A louder voice. I question the leadership. At least it showed in the playoffs. Gio is a great leader no doubt, but after him, I question it. A real presence is needed. We need a guy or guys who will go through the wall. A MacKinnon type. Not saying we trade for Mac. But that style of player. A player who will show how pissed off he is. Not sure who that player is or if they are available. But I would take several of those over 1 Hall. |

Habs don’t need another smurf in their lineup. Taylor Hall will do nothing for Calgary other than get them close to a 1st overall pick. |

Don't want Hall on the Habs but at 6'2" and 205lbs, I'm not sure he'd be considered a smurf |

If Hall meant the Flames would be getting a 1st overall pick, I'd be all in.

Isn't Tkachuk that guy? Just bad luck he was injured. |

Not even close, a 27 year old JG to a 28 year old Taylor Hall.....do it, do it now. Taylor Hall can play 5 V 5, PP and penalty kill. 6'1" vice 5'9', 210 lbs vice 165 lbs clear the cap space and get a couple of draft picks while your at it. |

I wonder if PIT-CGY could work something out...just for fun it is a nice brainstorming idea Assuming CGY has a relatively high, but not unrealistically so, interest in Murray...
Gaudreau FOR Murray, #15, Poulin?
If CGY wants something more "now" vs picks/prospects then that could be harder to deal with but given their cap situation if signing hall this may be best for them?
PIT can dump salary like Bjugstad to make it work, call up DeSmith as backup so it could fit in the cap... |

Good asset management would also factor in the AAV and TERM you would give Hall. If the Flames can get Hall signed to a COVID 19 friendly UFA deal then its a no brainer. I hope Treliving has learned his lessons on UFA over payments given to Brouwer and Neil.

Has been some talk among us Flames fans that feel Gio should gracefully pass the C on to Chucky next year. I for one support this idea as he is the true leader of the team.

Hardly, as the Pens need size and grit. Something that JG doesn’t possess. Also, like many of the Pens, he is good during the regular season but disappears come playoff hockey. Sorry, not interested. |

Hmmmmm, who do we have like that, perhaps Tkachuk. No one is trading Mackinnon types & its pretty darn hard to even draft one of these guys when you never ever get a 1st over all pick. Even those have no guarantees. |

A number one overall pick you say? Well if you get Hallsy it will be followed up with the 1st overall in the next draft so that's two birds stoned at once right there. |

So be it, that would be a bonus. Last I saw Hall is still a pretty decent hockey player & a top 6 forward. To get him without giving up assets other than cap space & $$$$ Im good with that.
