Wouldn’t be surprise to see Domi land in Calgary and it would be a great fit. Theses been a few trades between both team (Kulak,Rychel,Bourque)
I wonder what the cost would be for Hanifin coming in return? Might be what the Habs could be eyeing. |

About 3 weeks ago the talk out of Montreal when Domi first deleted Canadians from his social media was a Domi, Poehling & the 2020 1st for Gaudreau.
Some liked this idea & some didnt. I just dont know how Domi would fit here as a centre, Lindholm is probably who our top line centre shoud be, Monahan is 2nd line & Backlund 3rd line & Bennett has shown to be quite proficient at centre...especially with Lucic & Dube & Lucic isnt going anywhere next year. If Domi is ineffective as a LW, I dont see the point in this if rumours are true about Flames serious about signing Hall.
Havent heard anything about Hanafin being available anywhere but you never know with Tre & depends what he trades Gaudreau for. Wild rumours out there that even include Gaudreau for Ekblad, which could put Hanifin on the market. Who knows.... |

On top of (more scoring pop on the wing and more physical, ‘playoff’ style players) you never mentioned Anderson is a RIGHT SHOT and he can really SKATE!
Over the last few years he has been very impressive when the Jackets visit to dome. The big risk with him is health... in particular is his shoulder injury going to become chronic? If he checks out health wise they should go hard after him.
Domi I am meah on as we need to add RW not LW. He has not proven he is an NHL center and I think he is more of a LW. Sam Bennett deserves a shot at a center spot next year so unless we move Monahan or Backs I dont see a spot for Domi as a top 3 C in Calgary.
Sounds like the Leafs may want an overpay for Anderson given he is only owed a million this year. I think the Flames ownerships pockets are deep enough that he only fits here if it is not an over payment. The Leafs should call Ottawa, NJ, Florida, AZ etc if they are looking for cash strapped teams willing to overpay for that contract. - DEDDIE |

Thank you for responding. Actually Domi can play both LW/C but I think he wants to play Center and he’s a better fit there, he had a solid first year with the Habs playing that role.
As for the Flames I’m not sure what’s their need but I guess it’s time for them to break some pieces since they need more playoff power.
I’d take Gaudreau anytime with the Habs. Problem is we are way undersized already. |

What do you think the offer would be to Colunbus for Anderson? |

If Josh Anderson can get back to his solid play of the last couple years it would be exactly what the Flames need...Ive always wished we have a chance to land him...But with that said, apparently the time has come where it might be able to happen but I’m now really hesitant about his injuries....He is sooo intriguing but man it could be one injury away to the biggest flop of a trade...BIG RISK!!! |

Derek Ryan and a 2nd. Maybe Mangiapane and a 5th. I'm assuming his contract demands are ridiculous. Doesn't make much sense for Columbus to be trading him since a healthy Anderson is the exact player they need. |

Anderson from the Leafs would be a waste. We would be back to square one.
We need a 2 year bridge for Wolf. If Talbot doesnt want to take a 2-3 year term at a reasonable $$$ (Im thinking in the low 4's) then MAF is the play. We send them Riitch & our 4th for MAF & their late 1st this year. Then we have 2 years of Fleury & have the best of the farm back him up. Knights save 4.25 mill to give Lehner a good contract to keep him & have a decent back up in Ritter. We have lots of goalie options.
I was scratching my head on the Montreal acquisition of Allen. Why????
Then what if we did a deal where we send them Ritter as part of the package & we get Price with Canadians eating 2.5-3.0 mill. We ride price & a cheap backup until Wolf is ready to take the reins from Price. Just spitballing.

Montréal are not trading Price. We got Allen to play 30games this years. He’s only 1 year left from UFA, so the salary doesn’t count much.
Now Habs have a solid position on goaltending.
We haven’t had a good backup since Halak. It was time to fixe that hole |

I think it could possibly be part of a bigger package with Gaudreau going to Columbus. I think you guys need of Gaudreau would bring to your PP, & he would be a great fit.
You guys are solid on D, I would think maybe Anderson, Savard (1 more year to UFA at $4.25 mill) & your 2020 1st would be a pretty decent deal in my view. Let Brodie & Hammy walk & we have our RH #4 D to play with Gio. |

I get it about 1 year left but almost 15 mill to goalie position is high & will restrict any major moves you make to positions of need. Fun to speculate though. |

Size on the wing in not a need in Columbus look at their lineup! Cap space to sign Dubois and player exposure to Seattle are their big concerns.

What do you think the offer would be to Colunbus for Anderson? - Shakers His injury and contract expectations are the big concern for any team with interest. I could see a deal conditional to games played being in the cards. A top 10 protected 2021 1st tied to minimum # of games played next year.

Every team needs more size with skill on the wing. That's not the point. Columbus had an awful time scoring goals last year. Anderson has been pretty good at that.
The Flames also can't be giving stupid money to Anderson. They need to be setting up cap space to resign Gaudreau and Tkachuk. |

I get it and I’m against having so much money on goaltending but actually Habs have not really any cap issue this year and I doubt they make any major trade. The only trade I see is trading Domi and maybe Drouin and signing an UFA |

Bennett was the front-runner before playoffs but doubt it after what he showed. I think they'll keep him for 3C now.
What does CBJ need? I'd say a pick (2nd/3rd) and a big-body B prospect (Ruzicka) to offset the loss of JA would be the initial offer.

I've been fawning over Anderson for a couple years now.
His main concern seems to be replicating a RH-Ferland - lots of injury ruining an otherwise solid player. |

Giving 10 per to Gaudreau well into his 30's would be a catastrophic mistake and would pretty much guarantee that the Flames be mediocre for another 10 years. |

Can't win a Cup without multiple superstars. Superstars aren't signing in Calgary, so they better keep the ones the draft. Do you think Tkachuk sticks around if the Flames have no chance of winning?
They can probably keep the number reasonable since COVID is still going to be a thing. |

JG has not played like a superstar since the break in the 2018/19 season... thats a long fricking time! Make a good deal for him today, re purpose the $ he makes and move on. Bennett, Dube & Mang are developing and ready for bigger roles so its time to re balance our lineup.

He had one down year where he still put up 60 points. Patrick Kane also had a down year at about the same point in his career and has only had one season since where he scored less than a point per game. He sure didn't need a fresh start.
There's very little risk in holding on to him for another year. Unless next year is a complete disaster, the return is going to be pretty similar. |
