Really like Lundell
And to be honest wanted him there for my Jets pick but I just can’t see Anaheim passing on their choice of Drysdale or Sanderson. Even if said trade happened. |

Murray does not want to be waiting that long to be competitive. Having a strong centre core of Zegras, Henrique, Lundell and Lundestrom to compliment Larsson, Fowler, Guhle, Manson, Lindholm and Gubranson on defence along with Gibson in net. Silfverberg, Heinen, Comtois, Terry, Jones and evening Steel could switch to the wing.
Along with a strong 2021 draft that could bring in another young cornerstone piece I could see Anaheim competing as soon as 2021-22. |

You could see Anaheim competing for what? A wildcard spot? Garbage roster. Garbage pick. |

Well say what you will about my opinion but I wouldn’t write off Lundell before he’s even drafted.
And for what it’s worth when you have a goalie like Gibson I don’t think you need a superstar type player. Lundell will be a solid two way centre to the more offensive minded Zegras. |

If Murray ever even thought about drafting this stiff, I’d brain him with a tire iron...
No with Drysdale gets by the Ducks @ 6... don’t be stupid... |

I'm not writing Lundell off, but just think he's pretty inferior to some of the guys still available. Seems like most on the voting poll agree with me. I think you're putting too much emphasis on his NHL readiness. Oh wow. It's neat that he has the size and can probably step in ASAP. Great. Neat. But if your time horizon is 10-15 years rather thean the next 1-2 years then this is meaningless. I don't mind waiting 1-2 more years to end up with the better player, especially for Anaheim who isn't competing for anything in the next 1-2 years anyway. Being NHL ready is meaningless to them. |

it's not that Lundell is a bad pick, but the Ducks need Drysdale, their defense is in sad shape |

Lundell is a big reach at 6, probably 4-5 players left on the board who are likely better.
in reality, if this is the guy Anaheim really wanted, they could probably have traded back to like 10 or 11 and gotten him. |

Agree. Lindell is a nice player and if the Ducks could get him with the 27th pick I'd be ecstatic! I also realize he won't last that long, but to have a player that checks off so many boxes that Anaheim needs and to not take him would be a fireable offense IMO. Drysdale is easily Anaheim"s pick. |

yup, agreed. most mock drafts have Lundell going between 9-11, and almost all of them have Drysdale going to Ottawa at 5 or Anaheim at 6 |

it's not like every year we don't see a team going off the board a bit, like Detroit last year with Seider, but with arguably only two really top tier defensemen as prospects in this year's draft, I think there is a better chance they are taken, rather than passed up on |

fair, but I can't see that team being Anaheim, especially when their need for a quality dman so far outweighs their need for a 2-way center. |

I have just emailed Jan with the Sabres 8a & 8b draft choices. I am in Portugal so the time difference and spotty internet access makes be inherently unreliable as someone that would need to be chased. I’d rather not be chased.
I voted “Agree” with all picks because I believe everyone has made a cogent rationalization.
They’re not all the picks I’d make, but I buy the arguments for. |

I doubt the Ducks go for the safer pick. Having that many talented players on the board they'd go for a higher potential prospect. |

This sounds a lot like the Rangers rationale for selecting Lias Andersson at 7. |

To be fair “dudestar” negated the trade after the Staal/Johansson news came out.

I was trying to move up so I didn't get stuck with Lundell.
If you want a 6 mil cap for an above-average RHD. Neat, we still got Suter, Brodin, and Spurgeon. Plus next years D-men crop is loaded. Clarke, Power, and Lambos.
This team is old and not going anywhere. The Wild should be tanking for Shane Wright. If moving Dumba and Staal helps that's great. Plus, at 6, I could have taken Raymond or Holtz. |

it annoys the piss of out of me
and I know we always get people who are going to say "would you walk away from the money" and "its not Hank's fault it's the team's fault"
but it's really goddamn annoying he's doesn't see himself as done and there will be a 5 million cap hit for him this year and as a fan it's allowed to annoy me |

Yea I think a perfect situation would have been to retire, play with his brother in Sweeden them come back over after that season and sign with a team.
Now I wonder if it is even a greater probability someone like Tony gets traded. Going to be a tight cap situation. |
