anyone watch HJALMARSSON at all, I know he was hurt last year but pretty even player, 1 year left would Yotes eat half or could you send JVR in a package for HJALMARSSON and Grabner.I would prefer to fill the holes for the long term, just spit balling 1 year options to go for it next season, not saying those 2 put Flyers into contender status. Sling some ideas

Bill any reason why the Patrick contract hasn't been done yet? Does he have an agent or does his Family represent him? |

He is represented by his father. Carl Patrick. |

Thought you said you were done posting until next season a few weeks ago.
Not saying you can't post here, just curious. |

All the Flyers have to do to retain his rights is tender him his Q.O. which I don't think they can do until the season ends. |

Why didn't 37 year old Andy Greene outscore Kucherov and Point? |

It's incredible. Not just the
1. Misremembrance, but also
2. the fact that the resident retard here posted the same thing a few days ago, and I posted a response I am sure you read, which was the link to my actual statement, and which I will post yet again, for your benefit (3rd time in 7 days this link is being referred to).

"I had a rollicking time here last few months, and will surely be peeking in and posting ever now and then, like I used to before the pandemic."
3. The low utility of time that actually makes a post like yours worthwhile, about who said what when and how they are contradicting it etc. and which will surely lead to further endless discussion and about who was correct and what "ever now and then" qualifies as.
Sigh.

Couldn't resist.
High draft pick, head issues, reference to family representation... |

Why on earth would AZ do this? They are in worse shape cap-wise, and talent-wise than the Flyers. And you want them to eat 1/2 the contract? Or send Grabner too?

Yeah. Arizona is trying to cut payroll and said anyone over 25 may be traded. Montgomery has a five year plan. And from my understanding they are almost broke and delayed the bonuses due to players. |

You have a very misguided notion of how educated folk talk.
Perhaps you mean well-mannered or politically correct.
The terms idiot, imbecile, moron and retarded/retard are all clinical terms referring to specific IQ deficiencies. That is the origin of those pejoratives.
Idiot by the way is by far the worst, and yet it has strangely become the least politically incorrect.

Disagree. Don't think he would have been a regular NHL player at all. Had a nice short spurt then not much imo.

He had the nice spurt -- really all season, because he was playing well for the Phantoms and then played well for the Flyers -- before suffering a concussion. He was afraid to report it, since he'd just become a regular NHL starter and didn't want anything to jeopardize it. It got to the point, though, where there was no hiding the symptoms anymore. He sat out and felt better but the post-concussion symptoms still hadn't fully subsided when he came back in the 2012 playoffs, and got concussed again.
Unfortunately, he was never again able to shake the issues. Played only 17 games the next year but got concussed again. Missed about a calendar year. Played 7 games in 2013-14, and had another concussion with bad after-effects. Realized his career was over at age 25, and retired.
To Marc-Andre's immense credit, he never gave in to feeling sorry for himself. Focused on his health, and relied on his religious faith and inner strength to stay postive-minded. Found ways to stay in the game through coaching and scouting of young players. Got himself a college education as well.
Last I talked to him, and it's been several years at this point but he's now Rouyn-Noranda's assistant GM and head scout, he was feeling fine physically (the post-concussion issue flare-ups were basically gone) and really enjoying life. I'm very happy for him. Good guy and a success story
Hmmm are we talking about bust Patrick? Sounds familiar. Oh wait it’s just migraines. Not concussion related at all because the team said so. See lindros saga |

I know Ek is almost always wrong and often way off base, but in his latest post he speculates that the Flyers are talking to the Flames about Gudreau and the return would be a package that could include Ghost & JVR. God, I hope he's right for once...
I'm not saying Gudreau fixes everything. But bringing him in, even with that contract, while swapping out Ghost & JVR, would definitely be a step in the right direction IMO. Even if the Flyers needed to add a pick or prospect, I'd be all about that deal |

You have the origin correct. However, none of those words are used clinically in the 21st century. |

Totally agree with this. Retard/retarded in regards to thought process is NOT an insult personally. But the uneducated can’t understand that because they are idiots 😂 surely see you fellas after my hockeybuzz ban. Better get my pick in soon for the day |

And the reason they are not is because the pejorative use swamped out the clinical connotations.
In my case, in this regard, I stand by both the derogatory and the clinical assessment. It is justly earned, based on a large sample set. |

Why would Calgary accept that deal? They wouldn’t in a million years, unless the GM is completely inept.
I’m sure conversations are happening, which is what Ek reports on. But chalk this one up to pie in the sky speculation. |

Okay ladies to finish the week I’m gonna go some basketball for lock of the night. Take the under 212 in lakers/nuggets game. For those who need insight from the swami it’s game 1 and both teams will be feeling out each other and Denver playing relatively good d lately. Looking for a game around 97-93 or so which should leave plenty of room for the under without having to sweat it out. You’re welcome. 3-2-1 this week. #lovethebackdoorbetting102 |

After the round robin, I put money in on Avs, Flyers and Lightning. However, after Point went down and they managed to win game 4, I put some money on Isles to cover. My worst case scenario is that Lightning will be slowed by injury and will lose.
As for my own pick for the day, I choose Rams, and the over in the spread. Crippled LJ, JP looking awful, rookie RG, no training camp for WRs, this one should yield big. But I don't bet against my own team so I will sit this one out. |
