Found on the HF Boards:
Bob Stauffer, who is very well connected in Edmonton and has been legitimate rumours wise in the NHL, has said on his show, Oilers Now, that he's heard rumours that Ekblad is available for trade. |

Him or McAvoy would be a dream. Though think Ekblad would have the bigger price tag and risk (concussion issues I think?) |

Yeah, I'd take Mac over Ekblad all day. Wy would the Bruins trade Mac though? Seems like a pipe dream |

Buy out window opens Friday . Top options are Ferland Loui or Sutter . I doubt it would be Sutter.
***** IF you are going to suggest Sven go check Cap Friendly . Buying him out you will pay more than his actual cost . It would go two years and the actual savings is only 500 K |

Don't know exactly, but probably why Boeser's name is in the rumor mill. Team shake up, trading from a position of strength, maximizing returns...? Probably more fan generated than anything. |

Pettersson remains in Vancouver, where he recently skated at Rogers Arena. - Carol Schram
I don't mean to sound like a big meany Leafs poopy-head here, but isn't that now illegal under the new CBA, a.k.a. the "Leafs players can't skate with Barb Underhill in the summer" rule? |

Is it not no coaches allowed? He went out by himself I think

Here's the actual rule:
Attachment L, 15.11 (b) Prohibited Off-Season Activities.
Clubs are not permitted to have Club Coaching or Hockey Operations personnel (e.g., coaches, skating instructors, other Club employees, contracted service providers, etc.) who participate in any on-ice sessions with Players.
Clubs are not permitted to request or encourage Players to come to the Club’s home city during the off-season to utilize the Club’s arena/training/practice facility(ies) and/or to train with Club Coaching or Hockey Operations personnel.

So it's actually about the worst written rule I've ever seen in sports, anywhere. The first one is fine, but the second one is just begging to be ignored.
"Heeeeeeey, we didn't encourage anyone to show up and skate - we just let them know that the door would be open, lunch would be served, and we'd be taking note of who was there AND WHO WAS NOT THERE."
I'm not belly-aching about this to slag the Canucks - I'm just saying it's an incredibly stupid rule.
But hey, NHL, so what can you do. |

I don't see it as complaining.
If Canucks asked him to train then there is an issue. If he goes to them and asks and no one is on the ice with him then no issues have been broken.

If they don't book the ice to other groups and tell him he can skate there whenever he wants, isn't that "encouraging" him?
I'm assuming he isn't paying the $600/hour rental fee. |

Celebs get a lot of perks. Canucks also book the ice to amateur teams for free I believe.
You would need evidence that the team approached Petey and asked him to work out.
After finishing two weeks ago I really doubt the team asked him. I think Petey probably went to the team and asked for ice time.

Or Petey was like "Hey, I'm staying in Van and I want to skate, what times are free?" and the org told him the times. I doubt the Canucks are renting out their rink 18 hours a day, every day, and would need to move things around for him. |

Would probably be the most ideal as the 1B goalie. Stanley Cup winning vet that could work with Ian Clark to get his game back up after a down year. |

That would be a nice signing.
Or if you want to go cheaper vet backup, could look at someone like CamTalbot.
