I know there’s been lots of talk surrounding Bobby Ryan but I don’t think the Leafs will be able to afford him after they sign Alex Pietrangelo, Wayne Simmonds, Radko Gudas, Dylan DeMelo, TJ Brodie, Chris Tanev, Robin Lehner, Sami Vatanen, and Dustin Byfuglien.

I know there’s been lots of talk surrounding Bobby Ryan but I don’t think the Leafs will be able to afford him after they sign Alex Pietrangelo, Wayne Simmonds, Radko Gudas, Dylan DeMelo, TJ Brodie, Chris Tanev, Robin Lehner, Sami Vatanen, and Dustin Byfuglien.

My understanding is that the Canucks could only walk away from a player elected arbitration award with Virtenan if the amount awarded was $4.539 million or higher. So If Virtanen is awarded somewhere in the $3 million range the Canucks would be stuck with the contract. So a qualifying offer may not be an option for them.

I agree I just think Canucks need to find out what is happening with the top six forwards first .

I would rather trade Jake for a high second or late first. Send Loui down and replace him with Lind or Hoglander.
