Congrats to Moose! It feels like so much progress in a short time not having to worry about goaltending in the offseason. I am a Flyers fan with zero worries about goaltending. Amazing!

Acceptable move. The FA goalie market is flooded, I think Elliot saw that and really could not complain about the haircut in salary.

Great news in my opinion. Hart was pretty vocal about wanting to keep Elliott around, and the $500k discount is much needed with everything as tight as it is financially. Hopefully Moose stays healthy and can get us some solid wins next season. He seems to compliment/mentor Hart well, and deserved an offer considering how he played last year when called upon.

Won 12 road games including wins in St. Louis, Washington (x2) and Columbus (x2). Had a 2.10 GAA and .929 AV% in his 12 road wins.

So, no, he wasn't a "below-average" backup this year. Won a lot of tough games in tough buildings, and performed well in those games.

Thrilled. Moose is a solid backup who works great with carter, understands his job, seems to be respected in the locker room and honestly can’t recall too many games that the loss was on him. That’s a damn good signing for 1.5 imo

If it was mentioned I missed it.

Patrick played in a scrimmage the other day. Promising.

Not crazy competition but still.

Good signing. Moose for one year at 1.5 is another fair deal by CF.

Saw Charley O’Connor and Bill mention prospects Tanner L. And Noah Cates as two very useful styles for the NHL game.

I think these two guys have a great game for that bottom 6. I really like N. Cates’ continue growth each year. Think he will be very useful.

Well, that is good news. Heard he looked pretty good also. Hope he bounces back and gets started on his growth as a NHL Player. That sure would sure up the middle.

He did fine last year. For a buck and a half it’s not a big deal. Good re-sign. Hey, he has sure played well in Washington.

Seemed like he had a resurgence last year, looked quicker and much better at recovering while making those second and third saves off the most initial shot. I thought it was the best version of himself since arriving in Philly, healthy he’s pretty good! He’s a no brainer if there’s more of that! The other injury plagued years maybe not so much.

Cates seems like a Raffl type, in a good way. Good, cheap bottom 6 type. Maybe not the highest of ceilings, but a good bet to be an NHL player.

Solid sign .....when you get a guy that is good with the young stud goalie, is a great teammate and a quality goaltender in his own right you don’t have to over think it. 1.5 is about right with today’s cost uncertainty and abundance of goalies on the market.

Checklist is coming along pretty fast:

1) Sign RFAs (Myers and Patrick)
2) Draft good
3) Must dump salary (Ghost, JvR, Voracek)

Start season.

Outside of Jake being “Must Dump Salary” for this off-season, I agree!

Pretty sure if we dump that amount of salary we aren’t starting the season without overpaying for for somebody on the UFA market.

yes Bill he was a below average backup. His save % overall was below 90; that is a below average backup. That is not good. So you cherry picking some stats doesnt change that. That being said yo get what you pay for and to upgrade it would have cost more
