Hard to believe but can't see him in the Oilers price range. |

Harsh on the term, but I'd still do it if it means having a starter in his prime for the next 3-4 years. |

Verhaeghe for 2 years in Florida. Good signing there. |

I cringe at any UFA contract with term. |

Oilers sign Turris 1.65mil x 2. Definitely not keen on that. |

Meh. At least it fills a hole and won't be a big liability. |

People said the same of Chiasson. His performance the past few years hasn't been far removed from replacement level. The extra year shouldn't be given to that level of player; either give the extra year or the extra 300-400k. |

My complaint having been said, it opens the door for a more offensive 3rd line.
Nuge- McDavid- Kassian*
Kahun- Draisaitl- Yamo
Neal- Turris- Puljujarvi
*see if you can find a fit for him in Ottawa or maybe Florida |

I’m okay with it.
Frankly Turris never seemed to fit in Nashville. I’m not terribly confident he’ll fit here, but I’m willing to entertain the possibility. |

Also signed Alan Quine. Decent tweener C with some real offense. Seth Griffith apparently, too. AHL tweener offensive depth. |

I rather like this.
Any word on whether Draisaitl and Kahun have any history together? |

Chiasson at 1.65X2 would have been totally fine as well. Kassian and Russell at 3.2M and 4M on longer term are much bigger liabilities. Not to mention clown contracts like Lucic/Neal.
I don't know what you define as replacement level but I don't think 30-40 pt bottom 6 forwards are comparable to replacement level, unless the replacement requires more than league min $/term, which is essentially what Turris is. |

They played together at age 14 and produced 6 pts/game together at that age. I think they've played together on the World's teams. |

Replacement level generally refers to ability to positively impact 5-on-5 play relative to your team at a sufficient rate to be worth paying above 1mil. Turris hasn't done that in Nashville despite pretty easy minutes. |

Word is also that back in 2018, Draisaitl pitched Kahun to the Oilers as a guy he felt they should sign |
