JR did not sign Ceci to 1 million to make room for Chara, hence the return to Ottawa in Ek's statement makes the most sense.

Are you kidding? Pettersson is already a legit 2nd pairing dman at 24 years old and signed for $4M for five years. That's a pretty outstanding deal.

Ek, there is NO NEED for Chara in Pittsburgh. There is no Cap Space, there is no need for a LHD. There are too many D-men in general.

And most importantly, Chara made his name, career and the Bruins over the years. If THEY aren’t willing to sign him for ONE MORE YEAR, don’t you see that as a HUGE red flag?

I think Big Z could be a difference maker on the Sabres Blueline 2nd pairing with either Risto/Montour or Jokiharu. Size, leadership defensive presence and toughness all useful to Buffalo.
