From a pens fan... maatta is good not great. There were stretches of games where he looked like a true top pair followed by longer stretches were he looked iffy.

The Kings aren't trading a player they just extended before he plays a single game on that extension.

If he plays like he did in the playoffs. It's a steal. He was quite fantastic for the hawks in the post season.

I think he'll flourish with DD.

I also think the Kings would be wise to look into Weegar... they have the cheap up front pieces that Panthers would be interested in ... and that could really boost their backend...

Of course I'd like my Ducks to get Weegar also.. so there is that.

Who does Weegar replace in the lineup for LA? They just extended Walker to a very team-friendly deal, and Roy is coming off an award-winning season.
