Star Wars. Original 3 all the way. Prequels were diminishing returns. New Trilogy started with a bang, ended with a whimper. Identity politics took over in SWTLJ and that's never what Star Wars was about.

The Timothy Zane books would have made a good blueprint, but Disney tried to flush all that. Funny now they are backpedalling and mining that stuff for ideas, as todays Hollywood can't have an original thought. (example Grand Admiral Thrawn)

One thing that always bugged me....New Hope. Ben Luke on the Falcon for the first time. Ben used the helmet with the blast shield down (I can't see Ben!) and the ball droid to help Luke experiencing the Force the first time. (It was like I could see it Ben) But episode 2 the younglings are doing the same thing. George retroactively made it the way they are trained, when Ben was just using the crap that was around to help this kid see.
