This "eastern" division would definitely be tougher by a long shot. For the first time my three most hated teams would be in the same division as the Pens (Phi, Was, and Bos, in order). In a full length season I think it would make it extremely difficult for the Pens to make a deep playoff run due to the physical toll taken by playing these teams so much in the regular season. In a shortened season it might not be so bad, provided that the Pens can get off to a good start and the new guys can fit in well from the beginning.
Edit: four most hated: Phi, Was, Bos, and NYR. |

St. Louis on the decline??? Penguins will struggle to make the play offs. Which defense and goaltending would you rather have? |

Love this division. I despise every single one of the teams in it aside from my own.
Those are my favorite games. |

If that’s the division that the Pens end with, good luck. It will be a war of attrition even more so with a shortened season and each game having more meaning. As presently constituted, the Pens will be lucky go get the final playoff spot. Sad but true. |

As usual the NHL thinking is "old". The COVID (likely to spread needing makeup games) Division should be Florida,Carolina, Tampa, Dallas, ST Louis, Nashville, Arizona,Vegas.
Canadian division is fine, spread the rest around regionally. |

I’m just glad you jerks are back in our division. It wouldn’t be the same without the Pens there.
Yes, I can’t stand your team because you’re a rival, but don’t take that rivalry away from us. I look forward to seeing my Flyers play you guys just like I’m sure you look forward to facing us. |

Those are my top 4, too. Philly is #4 (strangely) and put the others in a hat and pull out for order. |

Likewise, although it's better when we're both good at the same time. It seems as though they are passing each other right now so we might have to wait another 5 years or so before they might be on the same level again. Of course, in the modern NHL and with a coach like Sully, the "rivalry" is flagging pretty badly. I don't even know if Crosby would chirp back at Giroux and forget about seeing something like Carcillo/Talbot again. |

I'm wondering if they are going to change the seeding process at all of this. Will it be top three of each and then a wild card? Will they attempt something like what they did this summer to squeeze out a little more hockey? |

Pitt is my # 4 after the NYR, NYI, and NJ
But the latter three are all really close.
Since I live in DC now, and they have been a divisional foe for the past whatever it’s been, you can prolly toss them into the mix |
