Big Sam as a winger, eh?
I was really looking forward to having him crack the lineup this year, but I have to admit, I didn't see this one coming.
That's a lot to ask of him, really.

Sam will be what 12th on the LW depth chart? AV and his archaic way of thinking. |

I understand wanting more physicality within the forwards but the entire team got pushed around by the Islanders. Not just the forwards.
But first thing's first. I hope Morin gets the knee fine and it hopefully stays fine. Position change isn't that much to get worked up about. I'll trust the coach's judgment. |

Rooting for the kid. Thanks about the straight line speed. I remember them talking about his footwork in the past, edge work and what not. Forgot he was descent in a straight line. Jen compared to pronger. Chris’s answer was his “dainty feet”. His words. Not sure if true but prongs being 6’6” wore size 10 skates.
This kid deserves his miracle. And I want someone who can stand up to Wilson, Ross Johnston and whatnot. Martin is a good role model for him.

Flyers with the Hail Mary to save a former first rounder’s career. Worth a shot I guess but I’m not expecting anything to come of it. |

I like the move of Morin to 4th line winger...I’m pulling for the kid. I’ve been saying for the past few years the Flyers lack a deterrent in their lineup. Outside of a signing or working a trade, this is a great route for Fletcher to take. |

I remember during his draft year, NBC showing a clip of him closing down Anthony Duclair for a loose puck as Bill mentioned. The guy is definitely no slouch...I just hope he hasn’t lost much speed. We’ll be rooting for him.

@Bill...aside from Kordic, didn’t Daryl Stanley also see time at wing when he and Dave Brown were dubbed the “Bruise Brothers”? |

With this years new taxi rules etc... Morin who has played defense and switched to a winger could be very helpful if injuries or getting sick affects the team. We can just call up a player from the AHL. Morin could fill in at defense or offense. Although not ideal.
I can’t imagine that he’d play anything but line 4 wing. A good shutdown line four would be beneficial. His defense experience would help, I don’t think anyone would expect him to score many goals. Another place that he could look good is the PK (give Coots and others a break). |

Morin made reference to how long of a stick he plays with. If it sticks I wonder if he would consider a shorter twig for battles and puck protection. He also said his dream of playing defense wasn’t over either. This is to get him playing.
It will be interesting. But I imagine the long shot of him being on the PK. The pk would cover much ground with Morin Hayes and coots. |

I always assumed forwards played with shorter sticks than defensemen. I always thought a longer stick for a Dman was useful for poke checking. |

I'm not against the change but I would prefer Morin stay at defense. I still think he could have a path to becoming a 3rd pair role physical defenseman. |

Would love to see Morin neutralize Wilson and the other Bad Boys in the division. It’s a long long shot but really nothing to lose since he had no shot at cracking the current and future D lineup. I hope I’m wrong but I’m sticking to my original prediction that Morin is not extended no matter what happens this year. Going on 8 years it has to end sometime. |

The Flyers have the makings of a very good 4th line. That does not include Sam in any way. Neutralize Wilson or any other player is laughable. |

Well if worst comes to worst I can see him being offered a position within the organization. Also glad to see the human side, that they did not give up on him yet. All the tools. Terrible luck. |

We need a goalie given Lyon is expected to be on the taxi squad which only leaves a healthy Sandstrom signed

I’m just happy there is potential for Morin to continue his career and have a path to the NHL, regardless of position. We’re lacking true physical players outside of Aube-Kubel. I don’t see the switch being permanent but away to make his way to the nhl and re-evaluating his position later. |

Fredo actually had a purpose. This guy is more like a yapping chihuahua. |
