Hi Paul,

Enjoy your blogs and the stories!

Could you tell a couple stories about the old Calgary Corral and Saddledome. I am sure some great Flames/Oilers stories in your time.

Thanks

Owen

I grew up in S. Jersey, LBI and attended many a game at the Cherry Hill Arena, prior to expansion. One game a lady with a small child was sitting in front of us about center-ice and down by the boards 1st or 2nd row and every time the puck or action came close, she held the child up as a shield. The good old days of Rosaire Paiment.

Great stories as usual, Paul.

I don't use Twitter (nor any other social media). Just out of curiosity do you have any good stories of the Civic Arena here in Pittsburgh? I know that a lot of players and staff from the Pens and other teams did not like it due to the age and the fact that it was not originally built for hockey but from a fan's perspective (at least mine) it was great. With the way how the seats were built even in the middle sections it often felt like one was close the ice. It is hard to believe that the city was once affluent enough to build something like that for a theater/musical group (who never even used it).

I do remember the one story you told (but I forget if it was in Pittsburgh or Philly) where you wanted to get some posters signed by players to auction for charity and Lemieux and Jagr signed theirs but then Lindros ripped up his, as he was upset with a call you made .
